If MIN got the third pick, would you make this trade?

MIN GETS: #1 (Wall)

NJN GETS: #3 + Rubio

This would be as foolish as when MN posters wanted to do #5 & #6 for #2(rubio). I wouldn't do this and I'm not even a huge rubio fan, but I'm coming around.

While I'm not a huge fan of euros. Rubio was hyped as much as any overseas prospect I had ever seen. Then here I was complaining about how he can't shoot, doesn't elevate on his jumper, etc etc. I just didn't see it at the time. Many people see Wall as the superior prospect I tend to agree, but not to the extent of adding another potentially franchise changing talent from the #3 pick.

1 of Favors, Cousins, Monroe, Aldrich + Rubio or Wall(or Turner)

It really depends on whether Evan Turner is available at #3. If he's there we gotta keep the pick and Rubio. If he's not available then it's all in for Wall.

Absolutely not...there has been more than one analyst saying Ricky would be a top five pick even thise year. Call him the 5th pick....so something like the 3rd and 5th for John Wall does not do it for me at all. We could package our third with another plus a younger player like Sessions to drop down and get Turner. Either way, John Wall isn't worth that much. I might be bias, because I actually think Turner is going to be the better player in the NBA.

Man if u guys can get Turner, u guys have 5 legit young all star potential prospects in Flynn, Rubio, Turner, Love, and Jefferson. Now all you gotta do is pull of some trades to turn flynn/rubio and love/jefferson into a SG and a C

I don't know enough about Favors or Cousins to say for sure, but I'd probably do this trade.

Hmmmm... The thought of Rubio throwing lobs to Wes Johnson has me second guessing.

Way too expensive.

I'd lean towards getting Wall, but i'm really not a big Rubio fan.

From what I've seen of them both, Wall is a better NBA prospect and has more value than Rubio, but he doesn't have more value than Rubio + Favors (who could be a duo similar to Nash and Amare) or Rubio + Cousins, etc.

No reason to combine Rubio and the pick for Wall. There isn't a big enough separation.

How high would Rubio go without baggage? He's probably be worth at least the fourth pick even with contract complications, and he'd obviously be more valuable if he could play right away. Rubio without contract issues would warrant serious consideration at the very top of the draft, so it's almost like giving up this years #3 PLUS a future #1 or #2 overall. Why should we give Rubio away for a discount when we can afford to wait for full value?

I easily do this trade. Wall is a better prospect and player than Ricky in every single way imaginable. If Derrick Favors, who has incredibly high bust potential, is all it takes then I jump on this trade in half a second and laugh at whoever accepts.

Wall's passing and vision is amazing. You're really splitting hairs between them in that aspect. Wall has FAR superior athleticism and will be a much more prolific offensive force in the NBA. He's quicker, appears stronger, and projects to play better Defense because of that. I'm not knocking Ricky, but he is not John Wall as a talent.

I haven't seen enough of these guys to have a strong opinion, but I'd lean towards no. Wall has been kind of sloppy with ball in conference play and has started to play more like a combo guard.

I would keep Rubio and the #3. Normally I want to be on the side of the trade that is getting the best asset rather than the most assets, but it's too difficult to predict how good all these players are going to be. Perhaps I'm influenced by Derrick Rose's impact - it wasn't quite as dramatic as I expected. Is Wall better than Rose - if so, how much better? When there is this much potential involved it becomes a trade scenario that is only obvious in hindsight.

Wall isn't the passer Rubio is. Rubio has some of the best court vision, passing skills, and BBIQ in a point guard in quite awhile. That's why he's so good, he doesn't have elite athleticism to overcome just average things. Plus he's taller than Wall, who only seems to be about 6'3 at the most while Rubio could be 6'5.

I think the front office would do this trade. They need to do whatever they can to create marketing opportunities and lure back fans.

Starting with the NCAA tournament, and many many office pools, then ational media will be following John Wall.

Any story leading up to the lottery will talk about John Wall.

Any story after the lottery will talk about John Wall.

Workouts? John Wall.

Draft John Wall.

Pre-season? Rookie reports? John Wall. John Wall.

The front office would be hard-pressed to find a better opportunity to get national exposure, and get casual fans interested than to add the #1 pick. Rubio and #3 may turn out to be worth more on the court, but I think Wall would be their choice.
