Darko Still Plans To Return To Europe

Darko Milicic has played more since being traded by the Knicks to the Timberwolves last month, but his plans haven't changed.

"When I look back now, this isn't how my career was supposed to look," said Milicic. "Being a defensive guy, all of this time not playing, that's not how I saw my career, that's not how I enjoy playing. That's why I've decided to take a shot and go back to Europe. I'm 24, I'm still young. So I can still be happy overseas."

Milicic has repeatedly said that he was lied to earlier in his career.

"Everybody said this is how it goes in the NBA," Milicic said. "You've got to watch first, you've got to learn. It's all bull. I didn't learn anything by watching. There is no practice in the world even close to game situations. They're trying to keep you happy, trying to keep you thinking your time is around the corner, but it's a lie. You can't keep everybody happy. But I was in the flow and listened to them. And now it's too late."

This only reinforces my prior opinion of him being a little puss-boy. Good riddance. He could be a serviceable role player skill wise but he's obviously not a realist or a team player. The hell with him.

way to recycle old quotes, gotta love the big media outlets.

How realistic is it that a) SI send someone interviewing him and b) those quote not being republished by local media at all ?

I do believe he´ll go back to Europe after the season and that it would be an understandable move for him.
And come on, he´s been 100% up front with this from the get go, how do you expect him to change his mind over a couple games that were almost exclusively losses (and some not even close) when half of his problem with the NBA is not having anything to play for with a bad team and just going out every night for nothing to play for.
A few games where he gets a few minutes should change that ? He played 20 a game for 2 years in Memphis, so it´s not like he´s now playing for the first time.

I think you've hit the nail on the head, he clearly hasn't interviewed Darko.

We got the guy for free. At the very worst we get a look at our system with a more skilled center.

And yeah, there's ZERO chance that this interview is current. It's recycling crap from December.

I'd take Darko over Biedrins, more upside.

c'mon Darko, we have way better strip clubs in the states. Trust me, you will definitely regret it if you go back to Europe.
