Hollinger wrote: While the Nets chase one more win in hopes of avoiding the worst record in NBA history, Minnesota needs to win one of its final 10 contests to avoid a dubious record of its own. The Nets set the mark for the worst start in league history by dropping their first 18 games, but the Wolves might set a new standard for the worst finish. With 14 straight defeats in the books, Minnesota can tie the league record for the longest losing streak of 24, set by the Cavaliers over the 1981-82 and '82-83 seasons.
Breaking the skid won't be easy, as six of Minnesota's last 10 opponents are playoff teams. Realistically, the two best shots the Wolves have at a W are in home games against Sacramento on March 31 and Golden State a week later. If they falter in those, the season finale at home against Detroit on April 14 will be a battle to avoid finishing the season on a 24-game schneid.

I'm not worried. A lot of playoff teams will rest their starters at the end of the season once they secured their desired playoff spot.

Hollinger also just called Wayne Ellington a bust because he has a terrible "Pure Point Rating" which basically is a formula that Hollinger invented that makes high assist rate point guards who play in slow systems look good. So fast paced SGs who's sole job is to spread the floor won't look that great.
Hollinger is turning into an idiot as well.

I'm not gonna lie, that article really pissed me off. Biggest Wolves troll, hell all of ESPN is, but this article was personal. Ellington a bust!?!

Re: Record Setting Wolves?
How is a 28th overall (or whatever it was) pick averaging 7 pts considered a "bust". I mean especially considering how he's come along since like the All-Star break. He's almost shooting 40% from three, that's also a positive. Yeah, he hasn't exactly set the world on fire, but to call him a bust is kinda wrong. If he were drafted #2 or something, okay, but he wasn't.

I don't think ANY 28th pick could be considered a bust. Once you get in that range, it's pretty much hit or miss.

Indeed. Not the first time that Hollinger has been so wrapped up in his made up formulas that he can't see the forest for the trees.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

Re: Record Setting Wolves?
Nothing would surprise me with this squad. But I don't think they're quite horrible enough to lose 24 straight.
