MINNEAPOLIS -

Al Jefferson, star of the Minnesota Timberwolves was arrested for suspicion of DWI and evasion of police early Thursday on University avenue.

Police stopped the 25-year-old NBA Power Forward near downtown St. Paul, at 12:25 a.m. Thursday after multiple calls came in about a vehicle that was violently swerving on the road.

Residents in the area also complained about loud music and screaming emanating from the vehicle.

Initial reports state that Jefferson was uncooperative and violently resisted arrest.

Later, Jefferson was booked into Ramsey County jail on suspicion on 1st degree DWI. If this officially becomes Jefferson's second DUI he will face imprisonment in county jail for no less than 90 days nor more than one year.

Front Office Executive and Timberwolves President of Basketball Operations David Kahn released the following statement regarding Jefferson.

Our entire staff and the Timberwolves organization are greatly saddened. We are immensely disappointed that Al has once again used poor judgment. His latest actions are reprehensible at best and incredibly dangerous at worst.

Originally I had viewed Al as a cornerstone for our franchise, with his recent actions that status is now jeopardized. I am sure He feels horrible over what occurred and meant no ill will but this was a choice he made and he will now have to face the consequences.

Lastly, I would like to say that although our relationship with Al as a member of this team may now be changed, we will continue to support Al Jefferson the person during this challenging time. Al clearly has some issues that he needs to work out and our organization will work with him to provided any help we can.

So far, no statement has been made by Al Jefferson himself.

I'm the only one who didn't fall for it? I First had to verify my suspicions by reading the comments first, but was disappointed that I couldn't post pictures of Winehouse because that would be irrelephant.

I'm pumped, Klomp told me though that he will release the name of the new mod today. Rev told me that I'm the favorite to win, so I've been pressing refresh every 5 seconds since I woke up.

i didnt fall for this one, because someone else did something that made me aware of the day. but just now my daughter got me , we have been having issues with her and her boyfriend lately, and this morning her facebook status says she quit her job and got a tattoo. easily something her bf would have her do on his day off. my mom got on and asked, my daughter just says she hates her job so she quit. i was all worried, my name is on my kids lease. so i call her, ask nicely , not how i wanted to ask, like wtf, but she says its april fools. ugh, not funny , sort of, i call and tell my mom, "so you know its april first right?" she pauses then "oh that little brat"

ok, im on guard the rest of the day now

Haha! Well in case anyone wasn't sure while reading I left a code in the text that spells it out for the discerning eye. Hopefully Al doesn't come busting down my door!
