Sens At The WJC

Post#1 » by SenatorsFan11 » Tue Nov 10, 2009 11:26 pm

This may be the best WJC to watch as a Senators fan this year as we potentially have the two best defensemen in the tournament in Karlsson who won most valuable defenseman last year and is also playing very well in Binghamton at the moment and Cowen who has yet to compete in the WJC due to his knee injury last year but he will be one of the best Canadian blue liners for team Canada as many of there top d-man have found homes in the NHL ( Myers, Del Zotto, Pietrangelo ) and has not surprisingly been playing outstanding hockey since he was given the Captain role.

Side Note: Seems to be taking the same development path as Shea Weber and if he can come close to be what Weber is , I would consider him an outstanding pick at the 9th slot.

To a lesser extent we also have a couple of swedes in Andre Petersson and Jakob Silfverberg who have a great shot to crack the Swedish forward group and also goaltender Robin Lehner who also plays for Sweden may also make the team as he is playing outstanding in the OHL.

Keep a close eye on the Swedish and Canadian national teams during this World Junior Championship as many of the future Sens will get there chance to play in the spotlight.
