Just saw yesterday they have a thread on the sixers board, I'll try and get them over here!

Really hoping we don't draw the Rangers. Not saying the Flyers can't beat them, but that match-up hasn't faired well for us this season and I hate facing Hank between the pipes. Really would love a rematch with Pittsburgh. Love how the Flyers get under their skin and make them play a different game.

Tied at 1 goal apiece after 2 periods. It's been pretty tight possession-wise, but both goaltenders have kept their teams in the game. Hoping for a big third period coming up from the Flyers. It's crucial we win at least one of the two at MSG.

Mason's backing up Emery tonight in Game 3. Guess it's a strong call considering Cal Heeter didn't look too good in the final regular season game and wouldn't be reliable if Emery gets lit up early or injured. It's important to protect our home ice advantage and hopefully send things back to MSG up 3-1.

My thoughts on the Game 7 loss/the series ...

GoSixersBro wrote:Well that's the 2014 season. Flyers go down in Game 7 at MSG 1-2.

Spectacular showing by Steve Mason over the past 4 games. He stole us Game 4 and then put up a solid showing despite losing Game 5 and then was an absolute animal in Game 6 last night and again tonight.

Our offense just couldn't get going this series. Despite last night's explosion of goals (Simmonds' hat-trick mainly), our top goal scorers, including Giroux, whose 2 goals this series included a garbage goal in Game 5 and then an empty-netter in Game 6) flat out didn't show up.

It really sucks because a Flyers-Penguins series was extremely promising in regards to advancing to the conference finals. We've had their number all year, and they looked shaky against Columbus in the first round.

I guess the positive to take away from this is that we finally have a very good man between the pipes. No more Bryzgalov controversy. Just drew a tough match-up in the first round, but managed to hang in there until the bitter end.

Also love the Jason Akeson kid. He had the Flyers' lone goal tonight and was spectacular this series. People will remember his dumb penalty in Game 1, but he was one of our best on the ice throughout the seven games and hopefully can be a key player for this team in the future.

I had forgotten Steve Mason was a Flyers goalie.

They have been so bad and so forgettable since 2012.
