Was hoping for more of a leap from the young guys but Duke looks like the only one so far. Kind of disappointing.

what i don't like is that he didn't improve his handles at all , he cannot put the ball on the floor whatsoever

You can hate on Nash all you want but Cam won't last long in the league with this mentality. His game 1 in the summer league was a gross chuck fest where he made no effort to make the right passes or look for open teammates. This guy needs to humble himself quick. Shooting over double teams is going to land him in the G League or in Europe in 2-3 years.

This is also an example of one of the scarier downsides of keeping KD and Kyrie on the roster to start the season. Instead of humbling Cam, who was already known to have this sort of attitude, they seem to have been encouraging this behavior in him. Its fine to be confident in your ability of course, but as a second year player you just don't show up your coach like this no matter how good or bad he might be. Especially when your game is so one-dimensional.

TBH I just rather see KD, Kyrie, and Nash all out of here. If you can throw in Cam in one of the deals or in a separate deal for a first round pick as has been reported then cool. But we really need to get rid of this toxicity that is surrounding the team and get a developmental coach to get the best out of whatever young players remain and may come over the next few seasons.

Lol omg I actually made a comment similar in the regular season that I wasn't too sure the likes of Ky and KD(despite his dominating) were good role models for our kids...

Kid you not!

yeah i was thinking the same thing.

however, we need to get this right. we can't trade KD for anything less than a consistent half court scorer to go with Simmons and our other pieces.

Wow. Someone is feeling himself when his game hasn't improved at all.

Again, I have no clue what kind of basketball you all are watching.

Another example of why this franchise is in a **** hole. Nash is the worst coach in the league but preaching passing to guys who don’t have teammates to pass too. The roster isn’t in any position for him but the immediate need to score.

He doesn’t need any humbling. This weird ass perception from nets fans of this franchise needs humbling. Trading him for a random 1st adds what value? He’s always challenged KD OR Harden. He’s got a very high confidence level after being around THREE TOP SCORING HOF talents in his rookie year and also had 20 point scoring stretch in the league when we had no KD, Kyrie or Harden. Wow. Shocking.

Dumbest **** I’ve seen all day. Again, Nets fans are right now showing a lot of flaws as the whole franchise is currently doing with the league.

Don’t run away from the laughingstock memes coming up when this blows up in a 60 loss season with no picks coming back. I hope you all have balls for that day.

You all are running off good players and can’t even see it. It’s absolutely hilarious. Don’t complain when we aren’t that attractive anymore to upcoming prospects and established talent when it’s all said and done.

I promise not a single NBA player or staff member is reading RealGM. We're not running off anyone.

I don't know what basketball you're watching but an open Edwards 3 or Sharpe wide open at the rim is a better shot than Cam fading away over 2 players. That's just winning basketball whether you're Cam Thomas or Kevin Durant.

Basically the only time you ever see this type of response from a player is when they're future HOFers. Cam is coming off a rookie season where he had some nice moments but overall, he was an inefficient scorer who couldn't shoot 3s, make plays for his teammates, or defend. He's closer to being out of the league than he is to being a legit starter. I like his game and his confidence but he absolutely needs to relax. He's in no position to be disrespecting his coach or his teammates.

Cam made all Summer League 1st team. Well deserved.

My thing about Cam though is that outside of showing more awareness as a passer, his percentages in SL pretty much mirrored his rookie year numbers, 44/27/87

Cam has got to improve his 3 point shot, because being an inefficient long two shooter that doesn't defend is not going to cut it.

To me, the only young guys that crack the rotation as constituted is Sharpe and Edwards. I can't see Cam playing ahead of Seth or Mills.

if he can add a 3 he immediately becomes efficient or close to it with potential as a high volume scorer. The midrange is already there along with the foul drawing skillset. It seems he makes more step back and off the dribble threes than open C&S one's. Kinda similar to Harden

Also agree on the rotation. Curry, Mills, O'Neal, Harris, etc. Will be difficult to find minutes. Of the rookies, I think Sharpe will possibly be the only one that's in the main rotation.

Cam still has a looong way to go before he's a rotation piece on a good team.

He still takes too many bad shots, has tunnel vision, horrible defense and sub par 3pt shooting. Right now he looks like a microwave scorer

Luckily he still has plenty of time to improve. He showed an improvement in playmaking and was doing a better job of playing passing lanes on defense. He's actually solid at rebounding as well.

Honestly think DDJ has a better shot at playing right now vs Cam.

Duke would be a rotation piece but his 3point shooting continues to be terrible.

Nets can't afford to play non shooters anymore that aren't game changers like Simmons
