Hard to believe that the good days for this franchise were 20 years ago. Man.

Nothing beat going to the meadowlands and seeing the run and gun Nets play live. Those fast breaks were legendary

Yes they were. I smell some good times coming back sooner than we might imagine now. We might be bummed by this drama. But, I trust Marks. Give it a good year or two of patience my fellow Nets fans. Let's get this sh#t right!

I disagree. The KVH iteration was better, and would have had a better shot against San Antonio.

I love KVH, but lets not pretend that Keith wouldn't have sh*t his pants versus the Spurs.

This is the era that really got me into basketball, was largely a passive fan / fan of the league before, but this made me a diehard Nets fan...

He would have at least been on the floor and providing the trailing 3 on the break. He shot 44% from 3 in the prior season's playoff run, while RJ would not even shoot a 3 yet the following year. He also would have done much more than Mutombo. I don't know why KVH "would have **** his pants versus San Antonio."

Van Horn played pretty bad in the finals the year before, and I saw nothing from him during his time with us that indicated that he would have risen to the occasion against Duncan and Robinson.

Oh yeah? Well I disagree with your disagreement, and will raise you THIS disagreement!

The two Nets TITLE teams from '74 & '76, featuring The Doctor, an absolute beast of a skywalking SF who's sadly a bit forgotten / underrated these days.

I'm also just kinda kidding. As I've said before on this sub, JKidd was the one and only player who somehow persuaded me to 'jump teams' back in 2001, after years of frustration as a Sixers fan, with a team frustratingly built around AI.

But those Kittles - KMart - Kidd - Keith/RJ - Mutombo/Big Mac finals teams are some of my favorite tragic underdogs of all time, not unlike the ~91 Eagles in the NFL, arguably the greatest defense of all time, but with almost nothing at QB the entire season (Cunningham & McMahon injured, and a series of disasters as backups).

In any case, PJax' Lakers teams of Shaq, Kobe and perfect supporting cast were a buzzsaw dynasty, and Pop's TDunk - Manu - TParker Spurs teams were sorta like playing Magnus Carlsen across the chessboard. Holy hell were those some incredible teams.

All the more impressive since we were nothing but a lottery team before Kidd came along. (all credit to KMart & RJ of course)

Anyway, congrats, JKiddy!
In fact (checking WP) I didn't know RealGM was that old, founded Nov. 2000 I guess?

Here's what it first looked like, I guess:

I appreciate all the love. I am one of the OG NJ Nets fans and am proud to have put in 2 decades in this forum.

Now let's sort out this off season and bring a title during the next decade!
