If he wants to play with Book and Cp3, and those guys want to win a championship together, then Phoenix needs to put their max offer on the table. I know people question Fischer but he said yesterday as of a few days ago Phoenix wasn't willing to trade Bridges and didn't even have all their picks on the table.
I'd tell KD you want Phoenix fine - but here's what the deal needs to be. If they allow Ayton to be out of play that's on them. Then he can get pre-mad at them and demand a trade out before he even gets there.
From phx perspective, I don’t see why phx would send bkn an offer including Mikal or Cam…. Why would phx put their names out as confirmed offers, and risk upsetting them? I would wait for Bkn to make official offer saying let’s do this specific deal, then phx can accept without risking upsetting their players.
I think this is exactly what is going on with other teams as well.. nobody is going to risk upsetting their players by making the offer to Bkn without knowing the trade gets accepted…. meanwhile the Nets need to know if said player would be interested in playing/extending for them before making an official offer for players on short deals like Siakam/Brown/OG… I think that’s why we have heard all of the bkn trade offers be so ridiculous (KAT + Edwards, Tatum + Brown)… they don’t want to limit market for KD, and in order to maximize return they need to get a bidding war going..
is this honestly a real question? if a team wants to get KD then they have to make an offer. it's pretty simple.
if you don't want to greatly improve your odds of winning a ring while CP3 is still a thing that's fine. The nets will wait until someone else has some urgency. whether he holds out or gets traded, without KD the nets aren't winning so there's no reason to take an offer they don't like, as they've shown so far.
Yes it’s honestly a real question. There are multiple teams that can offer very competitive packages. For example, If teams like Boston/Phx/Miami/Toronto feel that their best offer has at best a 25% of getting accepted… that’s a massive risk if it doesn’t get accepted. This isn’t like a normal trade where you typically see draft picks + filler for a player, no team trading for KD wants their offer dragged out into the media as a bargaining chip.
