Like GTR said, we're getting nothing out of 70 million in cap. It's crazy.

That offense was historic to say the least but the defenses were also weak two seasons ago. The defense has tightened up against the Nets making it harder to score. Nets had to adjust and it took Nash getting fired and finally playing elite defense in four games.

Nets can do a straight AD/Kai swap; AD does seem like a Primadona though. Shai/Kai swap would work but then you need a rim protector.

Edit, to be honest, it could work three way,

OKC sends Shai to Brooklyn
Nets send Kai/Harris to LA
LA sends two pick to OKC
LA sends Westbrook to Brooklyn

OKC continues to invest in picks and rebuild its team
LA gets a star player in Kyrie and a proven shooter in Joe.
Nets get another young all star to pair with Kevin and a Westbrook who is playing much better as of late. L.A. isn't going anywhere so I'm not worried about Kai/Harris going there.

Would love to trade Kyrie for a big man unfortunately Kyrie has no value.

Best we can hope for is a team looking to dump a bad contract and use Kyrie as an expiring. So who's got a guy making 30+m on a multi year deal that they want to dump?

Unfortunately the only one I can think of plays for us already.

Hayward, possibly Conley and Gay if Utah starts losing.

Makes sense for all parties. Just can't see us taking Russ doubt KD wants to play with him and his not the best fit especially with Ben. He could re routed his is an expiring contract.

Great win! Seth really heated up in the 4th, we need more from him.

But what really impressed me is our D. That's why I'm a bit concerned when Kyrie comes back and start him immediately. Sumner just helps us establish our D early on. Kyrie can come off the bench, but he will definitely finish games for us.

Perhaps. We would easily win the deal regardless as we get a star player in Shai. I really feel this team has the makings to be what the Bucks were two years ago

Another great team win, man that Kyrie suspension and firing Nash must of sparked the team because they did a complete 180. Our team defense is off the charts right now, teams can't even score 100 on us, this is very inspiring and they're showing promise. The ball movement is too good right now and Kyrie better not mess it up if he comes back.

Claxton is a beast in the paint ! His defense is a HUGE part of this team and we need every bit of his energy down low. KD looks like a 1st team all defensive player and I'm not even kidding. Sumner is another key defender, he was hounding Reggie Jackson and John Wall. Seph Curry won this game for us in the 4th, dude can really shoot it and he can also make the mid range, we need to feed him the ball more off screen and rolls.

It looks like Curry and Ben has nice chemistry together. But Ben Simmons is trashhh !!!!!!! OMG what can this guy do well? We should trade him the second we can get any little value back for him, we can't "wait for him to get good again", this dude is toast.. I don't care if we get 2 bad contracts and a 2nd for him, as long as those 2 contracts are expiring IDC get him out of here Geezus. And Joe needs to start making his shots, I have alot more faith in him tho. Patty needs to start connecting as well.

Claxton for All-Star? He’s already an elite defender imo, and his offense has really come along nicely. Just needs to make his damn FTs.

Time to be honest about Kyrie Irving the player. The suspension helps us. We have consistently played better basketball without him, during his entire tenure with the team. He’s simply not a winning player. Can’t argue with a monstrous sample size at this point.

I’d trade him and Simmons for a bag of potato chips at this point.

Amazing especially given everything that can go wrong has gone wrong for us for a number of years, and we're paying $70m for 2 guys that are giving us nothing.

That's all cus of how good Durant is, he gives you a huge margin for error and ****. Nash and Marks should have been fired the minute a KD team got swept in the first round. That is actually impressively hard to achieve.

Agreed 100%. Marks is lucky he still has a job.

Yeah, Nash being gone helps a lot but not having Kyrie there to screw up on defense and kill ball movement on offense is also a reason why we are winning

I don't want the guy back. The moment he starts ignoring Vaughn's play calls like he did to Nash is the moment he unravels all the good that has happened with this team in his absence.

Last night i also notice that both Seth and Cam refused to pass the ball inside to Simmons. I think the team has lost faith in the guy in terms of him scoring around the basket.

He’s too timid and it shows. Simmons was never a star player; Philly had to push him to his limits and potential because they wanted to create a star player for the fans to enjoy and he never got over the hump. We are now seeing this guy is just a straight up semi role player and he’s not serious about improving his game.

There aren't many centers I am taking over Claxton. He's what you're looking for in a center in todays game - ELITE defensive versatility and very good in the PnR. And this is not even an overreaction to this season so far, he's always been an impactful player out there. The key thing with him has always been availability which limited his consistency before.

Athletically he doesn't look like the player he was with the Sixers so that could be it too and maybe as the season progresses and he plays more games that changes.

At this point he just needs to return to the defensive player he was before as there is enough scoring (and could be more with Warren).

Marks finally corrected his error with the Nash hiring, only question Is was it to late? Also, the roster this year is by far the deepest Nets team; it’s gonna be up to the players at this point to salvage the season. Either Kyrie buys in or gets traded. We need a big but the team still has to play with effort. The defense so far has been amazing. I’m getting vibes of what last year’s Celtics team did, they jumped from bottom to top two. Nets looking like they are about to do the same. The X factor is going to be Kyrie from here on out, for the team to be successful, no more ISO and he has to defend according to the Nets scheme.

His explosion seems to be gone. It's a shame.
