Also wanted to say that JV coached a good game last night. He might not be an elite HC like Spo etc but he's light years better than Nash. He has a good feel on the game and his energy on the sidelines really helps the team particularly on the defensive end. He also has been great with timeouts but also holding the players accountable for their play(not just clapping).
3 man lineups with Ben-KD-Yuta needs to get a many mins as possible. The length, switchability, effort and IQ those 3 provide make it super hard for perimeter oriented teams to thrive. In a small sample of 44 mins, that 3 man lineup is: OFR :123 DFR: 108.8 NET: 14.3
Pair those 2 shooters(Royce, Curry, Joe, KI) and it provides great balance on both ends.
If the team can get a solid big that could deal with bigger bruiser types, the Nets would be a much more serious contender.
The eye test did show that KD/Ben/Yuta together was very effective and it's good to see the numbers reflect that, I also see Clax being interchangeable with Ben and TJ Warren whenever he returns being interchangeable with Yuta. Not exactly the same players but interchangeable as it is keeps us big and mobile.
Once Kyrie returns I'd be interested in seeing this unit
KD
Royce
Yuta
Kyrie
Ben
On paper I think that's our potential death lineup, there is only 1 non shooter in Ben and only 1 guy who is not switchable on defense in Kyrie.
