He should have been a coach in the first place before Nash unfairly got the job.

What exactly he has done to worn this gig?

What we witnessing here is hype and some type of commitment. This is Kokoskov X and O that team running on right now. Kokoskov for all his short comings was OK assistant behind Rick.

I'm still thinking not blowing this team up was huge mistake. Simply because not one good coach will entertain idea of coming here. KD and Kyrie for all the talent they have became toxic commodity. Not starting this season with coach like Snyder or Borega along with Brown and Ben was/is tremendous failure to understand what's going on.

Right now we not progressing, we just kicked can down the road. Marks thinks it's a right thing to do apparently, the way this cap is set, we going to rebuild after 2024-25 anyway.

He was a long time assistant with Popovich, he was an assistant here and did a good job as an interim coach in 2020. He is a smart coach, knows this team, and he is defensive minded. I think if they wanted a former player, it made more sense to hire him than Nash who never even wanted to be the coach after he retired.

Look at our defense since Vaughn took over.

Nash was holding this team back.

I can't put it all on Nash since the timing overlaps too closely with Kyrie. In the one game with Kyrie & without Nash, we lost & gave up 108. Without either, we've given up 84, 94, 96, 85. I don't know if we can say for sure that the chemistry and effort would not have improved with Nash & without Kyrie.

Odds are the Nash-Kyrie relationship was toxic and polluting the locker room. Vaughn's biggest test will be if we try to re-insert Kyrie.

Blaming Kyrie is stupid.

He was playing great.

The defense was the issue. It was always the issue under Nash.

Suddenly hes gone and our defense is transformed. How could that possibly be Kyrie's fault?

Nash just didn't know what he was doing.

Nash was problem 1a or 1b. Problem 1a or 1b Kyrie is still present. How is this Kyrie situation is positive in any way?

Nets players playing better without Kyrie is not coincidence either. Unless Marks/Tsai and JV find a way to keep Kyrie in check, this **** show will blow in our face again and again and again. I got 3 years data to say I'm right.

Nets really screwed this up. Jim Boylen is who they should have hired, and if he wasn't available go after Jim Boylan. I say this a s a Bulls fan, it is the only thing that can make a trainwreck more interesting. It would take the heat off the team and it ends up just jawdropping bad coaching to the center stage!


All that being said, I think right now you just ride out Vaughn and Tsai can eat his contract at the end of the year if need be. The early season hires are really tough and sometimes just riding the interim until the end of the year and knowing what the team will look like is prudent.

Had to likely give Vaughn the longer contract too because he knows time is short likely with this squad and to convince him to do it had to throw him some cash. Say for some reason it works out, well you still have him under contract, if not really not too big of a pill to swallow (less than paying Simmons, KD or Kyrie not to play)

This is why I got a ton of respect for Russ. He said something like 'they talk smack that they would never say to my face alone in the parking lot'. And he is right.

This is why I got a ton of respect for Russ. He said something like 'they talk smack that they would never say to my face alone in the parking lot'. And he is right.

I absolutely agree in 99.9% of the time. Jim Boylen is the one case because his post game pressers in general were baffling. Everything he did was baffling.

So in Russ's case absolutely when guys are pretend tough guys... Throwing popcorn etc... uncalled for. I don't like hecklers in general, but there is always an exception.
