Lol So, do you actually know if Seth may stay? Because it’s been said multiple times in podcasts that Callie Rivers, Seth’s wife and Doc River’s daughter loves Brooklyn and the commute to see her dad in Philly. Apparently, Doc drives here to see his grand kids.

They likely knew he would be willing to stay. They aren’t dumb enough not to trade him if we saw the return for Crowder. If they dealt KD, Crowder and Kessler to desired situations...why would we not deal Curry unless he indicated he doesn’t mind re-signing?

That’s stupidly optimistic. He cost only 10 million and shoots amazingly. He could be on contender at ease. Even back on Philly.

For that alone he needs to be fired. It was obvious Simmons was a head case after last season.

Bro you honestly believe the Heat offered Bam for Ben? Maybe for 50 picks

so you think utah was trading mitchell for simmons?

the only way bam was ever moving anywhere was in a kd deal.

I trust Whitfield.

He predicted the Nets collapse before anyone else.

I trust santa being real more than danny ainge foregoing an amazing trade haul for ben simmons and what, 2 distant future firsts the nets had to trade last summer?

you really think the nets had a chance to put mitchell next to kd/kyrie and chose not to?

I mean seriously let's use like 1 millimeter of frontal cortex here.

Cavaliers receive:

Donovan Mitchell

Jazz receive:

Collin Sexton
Lauri Markkanen
Ochai Agbaji
2025 first-round pick
2026 pick swap
2027 first-round pick
2028 pick swap
2029 first-round pick

you think ben simmons, sight unseen in a nets uniform off summer back surgery, held the equivalent value of collin sexton, lauri markkanen, 2 extra FRPs, and 2 extra pick swaps the nets didnt have to offer?

that's more delusional than the knick fans who thought they were getting mitchell for a package around randle. at least they had picks to trade.

Hearing the report that KD told the nets he would play out the season if the trade didn’t happen makes me want to fire marks more. Keep him wtf. Maybe just maybe they go far in the playoffs and it convinces him that this team has a chance. Wtf did they trade him for.

If you get full asking price, you take it whenever that is. If he gets hurt, he could have no value in the off-season. Marks, Tsai and KD had an agreement in place that the team would move him if things went south. KD considered Kyrie getting moved things going south. Everyone held up their end of the bargain. We walked away like bandits.

I'll take the 4 1sts, 2028 swap, Bridges and Johnson. We weren't winning with KD.

The Nets doing right by KD also keeps the team's reputation out of the toilet.

reading the windhorst article i think this offer was significantly better than what was offered in the summer and they probably felt like it was bc ishibia wanted to make a statement day 1.

it's not hard to approximate bridges and jaylen brown,
or cam j and smart,
and all the picks speak for themselves.

imagine how big that boston package would be viewed?

Yeah, they worked with him and did the right thing by KD, also as pay back for being the only one of the big 3 we brought in that gutted it out and just played ball when he could. This means we are still a place that free agents can look at and want to come to, because they know we’ll do right by them regardless of how things turn out.

KD actively didn’t want to be here, and we got a great offer for him. He leaves without having any ill will towards us. That means a lot more than a 2nd round exit.

Why is everyone talking about these picks like they are number one picks. They all will be late first round picks. I know it’s important because we traded all of ours away. So when the rockets get our lottery picks we will have the 29th pick. Yay

You don’t trade one of the best players in nba history when he is still playing like it. Oh and not get back an Allstar in return.

The first 2 picks will be late first rounders so a meh, the last 2 picks and the swap have value since nobody can predict what the NBA scene is like in 4 years time and the Suns team are no spring chickens.

There's a world where with KD and the new owner the Suns become a premier destination that has no trouble attracting stars to reload once CP3 and KD retire. But then there is the alternative world where injuries or unmet expectations tear the Suns from within and Booker is looking towards greener pastures.

why did everyone talk about the rockets picks since the first harden trade went down even though 1 of 3 firsts already conveyed and 1 of the 4 swaps is about to be nullified? that package is already roughly 1/3 of the way to being non-lotto meaningless.

unprotected future FRP's are currency bc the NBA is unpredictable one day to the next let alone 1 year or 2 years or 6 years away. the nets now have like 4 or 5 they can trade if they want which means they will have trade options. not that anyone expects the picks to end up being lebron or duncan.
