The trade to put us over the top

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/t ... &te=&cash=

this is the deal

Carter

Magloire

Kristic

unprotected 08 1st round pick

for

pau gasol

Brian Cardinal

08 2nd round pick

We all know that Kidd/carter/jefferson isnt working out.

Carter is clearly the odd man out as he kills this team night after night with his horrid shot selection. I think the reason the nets do this is clear, we get an allstar bigman who can play in the post next to boone and williams

Memphis does this deal because they are trying to get rid of gasol and receving carter is more then any other team could offer. We sweeten the deal by adding in a young player with gasol like potential in Kristic. They get to dump salary on us by getting magloires expiring deal for cardinal's crappy contract and we give them our 1st rounder (in the 18-25 range) for their 2nd rounder (32-38 range). I think this is a winner for both sides, let me know what you all think

New NJ Starting 5

Kidd
Wright
Jefferson
Boone/williams
Gasol

Thats a team that could compete with anyone else in the east...

I don't know if memphis would do it. At this point, i probably would do any move. However, i would not give the 1st.Well....a would if it was a top 15 protected.

I didnt want to include the 1st rounder, my logic is this though. With gasol this is definitely a playoff calibur team. that being said the pick wouldnt be in the lottery and it pretty much means its top 15 protected. Also thorne has done a good job of drafting these last couple years, Boone, M. williams & S. Williams all seem like solid role players which is why losing the pick isnt sucha big blow to the team. I think we could pickup someone helpful out of the 2 2nd rounders we would have with this deal.

Don Juan Capistro,
I apologize for "stealing" your idea in the Memphis trade, i just wanna know what they would think about that idea, and didnot know if you were going to post there.I'm sorry.
