How about firing Thorn?
Everybody is so busy thinking that we should trade Carter, RJ or Kidd and firing Frank but why not start from the top. I think it's over with Thorn. Ratner needs to step up and do something about this. Thorn over the years has been patient and i think that approach really hurt us.
I think he's horrible in drafting players too, we should've drafted Granger, should've passed on Marcus Williams, should've drafted Haywood over Collins (just named a few but there's a lot more).
This experiment is over. We need to trade Kidd and Carter and get a good shooter or an scoring PG in return and esp. a better draft position. We need youth, i feel like our players are getting old and we need someone to hussle with RJ.
This way if they fire Thorn then im sure we can get rid of FRANK =]
BTW... I love Kidd and Carter but i think Kidd is a very poor shooter, he is not consistent. I'm gonna miss his hussles, rebounding and defense but we can get that from somebody else too. Carter's offense is amazing but i think in that position now (SG), we need someone that hussles and play better defense than him.
If we can only somehow get a decent shooter, a PG that can score consistently through trade and get an allstar in the making PF or a Center from the draft then fire Frank and get a coach that has better offensive strategies, someone who would tell the guards to pass the ball quickly to the big guys when they are cutting ala PHOENIX SUNS then maybe we get a shot at the top. MANY TIMES... MANY TIMES!! I see SWill and Boone cutting... VC, RJ or Kidd would either not pass the ball to them and just shoot the ball OR just simply would over-threw it or late then there's the TO ><

Despite not having a single lottery pick in 7 years, he somehow landed Krstic, Boone and Sean Williams. Plus I'd love to hear who they should have drafted instead of Marcus Williams.
I think i would rather have Carlos Boozer, won't you?
And LOL, you sounded really high on Marcus Williams. You can't be serious, just say you're kidding, Pls???? I mean, how could you not like the lights out shooting of Daniel Gibson? Or even the speed and high flying ability of Jordan Farmar? Heck, i would even consider Kyle Lowry or a Sergio Rodriguez. Even Mardy Collins probably has more talent than him (maybe im going too far

How about Paul Milsap instead of Boone? Maybe, if we have him, Al Jefferson wouldn't have had as much rebounds this recent game right? Hmmmm....

And with SWill, it was a given. There was no other big guy to pick, we needed someone big, athletic. Unless, some ppl likes Glen "baby" Davis.

I'll give you Granger even though he was injured coming out of college. His stock had dropped and teams were low on him. Scouting report on Wright though was pretty high at the time and I can't kill Thorn for making that pick. He fit everything we were looking for at the time. He clearly wasn't the best player available but I think we looked at him more on a position basis. Should we have picked the best player available or maybe the player with the most potential...looking back, probably.
If you're gonna gripe about picking Marcus Williams, then even hindsight can't help you man. He was the best pg prospect on the board and we ended up getting great value for the pick. He's struggling now and thats really cause of the injury. I'm not trying to make Williams into a great nba pg but i would much rather have him than farmar, lowry or rodriguez. Gibson is not a pg...he's an undersized sg. He's a good shooter...I'll give him that but he can't run an offense. Williams has shown glimpses that he can.
I'm not gonna touch Haywood and Collins. You're reaching there man..lol
Millsap vs. Boone...I think both are pretty comparable players. Millsap is smaller but stronger and Boone is taller but quicker. Both rebound and score at a similar clip...stats for this year are nearly the same. I think by next year, Boone will have added more muscle so I'm ok with how he's progressing.
I don't think Thorns really the issue. Its a combo between the coach and the players. Some kind of change is due...don't think waiting for Kristic to show up will magically light a fire under this team.

Actually, i was more into Farmar at the time than Williams, i just don't post a lot.
Still a bad move. With Marcus' behavior back in college and with the drop all the way to 21, there's something about him. So i was really not into him. Sure he was the top prospect at the time and thats why im telling you that it was a wrong choice by Thorn because he didn't look more into it. Why did other teams passed on him??? Is it maybe other teams GMs is better in scouting?? Hindsight eh??

I'd rather have a patient GM than an incompetent one.
It's not stupidity. It's who thinks it is stupid is the STUPID one. Do you know how much this people get paid? So if you own the team, won't you expect your manager to draft the best players in the draft? Maybe your just that kind of person that would say "Just do your best son". WELL, this ain't just a game. THIS IS NBA and we're talking about Millions here. Of course i expect the Nets GM to draft the best players every single year because if you don't then why even scout? HELLO???? Spurs are having success in drafting players, even when their draft position is horrible. Don't you sometimes think about that? Maybe you think they're just lucky right?

Although, Spurs are not always successful but at least they have drafted better than we did.
I used to think you are awesome, esp. with them funny threads on gameday. But now i kinda lost that respect by calling me stupid. Im out of that little bandwagon.
