Trade RJ????

Post#1 » by ecuhus1981 » Tue Jan 29, 2008 4:26 am

I know we're stuck on trading Kidd right now, but MIA fans seem interested in this, so I thought I'd get a collective opinion:

Jefferson for Davis, D. Wright and Cook

I'd do this, and quickly. What do you think?

I personally wouldn't since I think Wright's a bust. I am a fan of Cook though.

Based on some conversations on the trade board, I wonder if this deal makes sense (if RJ was to be moved)

NJ Trades: Jefferson, Collins, Armstrong and Allen
NJ Gets: Monta Ellis, J.J. Redick, Patrick O'Bryant, Carlos Arroyo, Pat Garrity, Keyon Dooling and the rights to Fran Vazquez

GS Trades: Ellis, O'Bryant and Al Harrington
GS Gets: Jefferson and ORL's #1

ORL Trades: Redick, Arroyo, Garrity, Dooling, #1 pick and rights to Fran Vazquez
ORL Gets: Harrington, Collins, Allen and Armstrong

Maybe I'm bias, because Ellis is one of my favorite non-Nets, but I think he's a much better prospect than Cook or Wright. I personally don't think that much of Redick/Vazquez, but every little bit helps in a rebuild. Plus we get to dump Twin's salary.

Based on all of the salary dumped here, if combined with a Kidd trade, NJ would be in position to make a huge splash in free agency. Combine that with a little lottery luck and maybe you could be looking at something like this next season:
PG: Rose  /M. Williams
SG: Ellis/Redick
SF: Carter
PF: Brand or Okafor  /S. Williams
C: Krstic/Boone
