Well the reason can't be they don't have enough players for their last 2 games , if the trade would have gone through.

Their their rotation would still consist of let's see 9 players ????

With Josh Howard not injured it would have even 10 .

And non of the missing players would have been impact players .

I bet this deal doesn't get done. Thorn ripped off the Mavs and I think the Mavs know it now. J-Kidd would not make Dallas that much better (especially for what they had to give up) and I think if Kidd does get traded again, he goes for something in between this deal and what Pau Gasol went for. Cuban lucked out I think....

I think Dallas still wants/needs to do this trade. If they hang on to Harris they will be a nice team for the next 3-5 years. As currently constituted they will not make it out of the second round in the west, and it will not even be close. They will probably even have a tough time in the 1st round. Kidd gives them a chance to actually contend for at least this year and next. Other then Harris everything they give up is easily replaceable.

Cuban is just using George as a front.

Cuban realized he made a mistake and really got taken by Thorn in this deal. He's using Devin George as an excuse to back out...wouldn't be surprised if George is being paid under the table. That's my conspiracy theory and I'm sticking to it.

None of the players but Harris was a vital part of the Mavericks , the two first rounders and the second don't mean much since they won't be very good .

Don't see why this is bad for Dallas since they'd waste Dirks prime if the don't do anything since Harris isn't ready .

Its not bad for Dallas, its bad for their fans (and all teams fans) who perpetually overate young players. Devin Harris is by all means a nice young player. Jason Kidd is an immortal PG who is still playing at 90% and capable of winning a game by himself. Just playing on a good team again should completely reinvigorate him. Seriously the worst part about George objecting the trade is having to listen to the blatantly idiotic Mavs fans who somehow think they aren't better with one of the top 5 PGs in the game today and one of the top 5 PGs in the history of the NBA (even if he is at the end of his career).

George got the no trade clause automatically because if he gets traded he loses his Bird Rights, meaning that the most he could make this offseason is the exception. I don't think he's gonna make more than that anyhow, but he had a good reason to veto in any case if he thought he stood to lose money.

George exercised his no-trade clause, then played 30 scoreless minutes later that night. ( 0 for 11)

George is on the verge of going to the D-league.

What I got the phone call that the trade was blocked, I was shocked. When I found out that it was blocked because DEVEAN GEORGE of all people had a no trade clause...

...I never laughed so hard in my life.

Devean George successfully blocks the Jason Kidd trade and preserves his Bird rights to land that "last big contract"...yet in the same day he plays 33 mins going 0 for 11 and successfully blocks any shot of landing that "last big contract". Lol...you can't even make crap like this up.

And a horrid 43 minute performance tonight.

From the perspective of a Mavericks fan, I hate George right now. I was NEVER fond of him since he's been in the League.

It will ruin our chemistry if our five guys come back (although it's really just three, Ager wasn't an impact player, Stack was coming back, and I could even argue against George because he's going to be shunned upon from Dallas fans for the rest of his life).

This deal needs to get done, it's very hard times for Mavericks fans right now. Lol.

League to investigate tampering in proposed Kidd trade
The NBA will investigate the possibility the Mavericks and Stackhouse violated league rules with a prearranged agreement for the forward to return to Dallas after reaching a contract buyout in New Jersey and sitting out the 30-day waiting period, sources said

Detroit did exactly the same thing with Elden Campbell. But the Nets signed him during the 30 day period. He sucked and sulked, and the the team released him a few weeks later, and the Pistons picked him up again for the playoffs.

I personally always like George. That was until a week or two ago when he started crying about wanting to be traded if he didn't get more playing time. Now that his opportunity has come to go somewhere where he can get solid minutes he blocks the trade. Personally I didn't want the trade to go through myself, but I still hate him for what he did. Whether he agrees with the trade or not, he shouldn't openly make an issue of it with the organization.

George's Bird Rights will mean nothing if this deal is ruined or he isn't apart of the deal because Cuban will screw him just as hard as he is screwing both teams and no team in the league will pay him anything more than the vet min, if he can even get an NBA Contract after this

Well, on the bright side for him, his next team will be paying him in Euros, which are worth more than dollars!

BTW, hello fellow net fans...i usually post over at Nets daily or Al's blog.
