JO for RJ ! This is the best deal for a Big man

Post#1 » by About_Blank » Fri Feb 15, 2008 2:16 am

Vince Carter cant go because he's our second best playmaker but the PG ... Devin Harris is not Kidd, He's not a great passer like Jason Kidd, This is why I think that RJ is the one who should be traded for JO , not Vince Carter.. and let's assume that we get Miller for Nachbar and Magloire, Mike Miller is a perfect player for Vince Carter, as someone had mentioned before, Vince Carter is the one who gets double teamed tween him and RJ ... and VC gettin double teamed is perfect for Mike Miller , as we all know, He's a great 3 pt shooter .. RJ is one dimensional player. He doesnt make his teammates better like Carter does , Mike Moore is an example.

Indiana is just a bad trade partner simple. JO will always have health issues. You can dice it anyway you want it, but when was the last time the man had an 82 game season. He is ALWAYS injured. His team was playing better whilst he was out. If the Nets are indeed retooling, JO doesn't help. As much as I think it makes sense to get rid of RJ whilst his value is high, it shouldnt be for JO. Just keep the team as is, if the Kidd trade goes down, the Nets still look solid. They will be in the playoffs.

Over the last 5 seasons the AVG games played for all 3 players:

VC 71 games
RJ 67 games
JO 64 games

So it's not that big of a difference at all. JO isn't more injured than both Nets players, besides this season maybe.

By resting his knee JO will return healthy again and be the force he was last seasons. I say take a chance on him, it will improve the Nets defense.

^ It is.

It is simple. When Kidd was here I was against trading for JO with either VC or RJ. Now Kidd is gone. VC has to go too.

Id rather him than RJ the most insignificant 24ppg average I have ever seen.

Now with baggage issues, let him go SIC i'll take my chances with VC working with the young bigs.

Im pretty sure it was Kidd who made Moore better. Kidd makes everyone around him better. He landed Scalabrine a nice contract and look at what hes doing now. VC never played with Scalabrine.

I'm sorry but bringing damaged goods here is not a good idea. Seriously, this guy is always injured . Why do people here all of a sudden think he's going to stay consistently healthy?

Its the High Risk-High Reward that is drawing some to JO. If he is healthy during the playoffs, and I agree with you that chances are not high, we have a team that can make serious noise in the East. Assuming Mavs trade goes through, trade RJ/Magloire w/ a pick (Mavs) for JO.

Harris/MWill/DA
VC/Ager
Nachbar/Hassell
JO/SWAT/Swift
Kristic/Boone/Diop

IF HEALTHY, this team can contend with the likes of Boston/Detroit. Some will take the risk, some won't. I agree w/ OP that if we do trade for JO, RJ should be dealt, an RJ/JO combo just doesnt sound like it can contend.

lol @ this entire idea

if your rebuilding, you don't keep the older, more expensive player....

that just seems counterproductive to rebuilding a roster

seriously though....this Vince-obsession with you has to stop

Actually, he did. And he passed to him quite a few times. Of course, not Kidd-like, no discussion needed there.

rj is a bootleg rip hamilton...he can't create offence for himself.Just look at that toronto game 15 points 6-18....without a good pg rj is a nice role player. We all know what vince can do when he wants too....with rj he's been a role player his entire career and will continue being one. To get rid of vc and trust your franchise with rj is like trusting the damn rockets with mike james.

RJ for JO?

Unless the Nets uniforms are changing from a basketball jersey and shorts into a suitjacket and tie, i don't see the point of bringing O'Neal and his balsa wood knees here!

Pacers fan here, we don't want RJ for JO. We'd rather have a big with balsa wood knees than RJ. Thanks anyway though.
