I'd like to take the occasion of a game between Dallas-NJ where the Nets fans are watching Dallas play, to get a better feel for the secondary Nets players that went to Dallas (Allen, Wright, Magloire)
For those of you who watched the game tonight between Dallas and NJ, and who have watched those 3 play all year in NJ, how did it compare?
Is that the same sort of thing you were used to seeing from each of those? Better? Worse? What's different, if anything?

Allen played just like he did on the Nets. He hit the open jumper and grabbed a few boards.
Wright played decent today he didn't stand out to me, he's a decent young player who is inconsistent offensively. Wright looked better tonight probably because he played well in limited minutes.
As you saw in the last 2 minutes of the game...that is why we never played and waived Magloire. He's done. Everything you saw from him in the game last night is exactly what every mavericks fan should expect if Avery plays him.

Allen -- what you saw from him this game is just about the extent of what can be expected from him. He has a good 15 to 18 ft. jumper and if he's in rhythm, then he'll hit it. His post moves are limited and he is slow on defense.
Magloire -- more of a big stiff than I realized. The very very few times he played w/ us he moved like a robot and had stone hands. Not sure what he'll give you guys other than another body.
Wright -- i think he's the one player out of the 3 who can improve. He is talented but his confidence issues make him inconsistent. He isn't a lockdown defender but he does play tight defense making it tough on the opponent. Though he's supposed to be known for his shot, his jumper is still suspect so he is much better taking it to the hoop. I think if he ever becomes consistent w/ his jumper, he'll be a good bench guy for you.

I think its a pretty simple eval on those players you got Gump...
Wright...sorry I never liked him, going back to the draft...maybe this is the last time I'll say it...I was screaming Granger when we selected Wright...the Nets actually selected Wright for his shot...which was left to be seen as very spotty...somewhere it is there, but he never found the consistency we needed from him...surprisingly, he is an above avg defender...quick to the ball, can drive and pass...well rounded, but nothing special...he'll have his moments, maybe more in Dallas than he did here...consistency is everything with him and I just hope he doest not committ the stupid TOs for you that I watched him make in Jersey...
Malik...he'll produce the most...very nice jumper for a big man...a decent defender who will not back down from any center, no matter the size difference...a nice off. rebounder and a good team player...he'll take the right shot and make the right pass...
Mags...slowed since his allstar days...some nagging injuries...and his hands have seem to have gotten worse as he gets older...however, I still like him for the role he'll play for you guys...A tough center, can obviously grab some boards and a block a shot for you here and there...did I say he's a tough center...well, if you're in the trenches and your front line is in foul trouble he's a good PF/C to have at the end of your bench...
