Toni was already one of the best euro at highest level (Euroleague) before coming to the NBA. Danilo is playing in a much weaker team...

Regarding the comparison, Kukoc was the best passer/assistman in Europe (one of the best in the world overall at his size) while Gallinari is solid but nothing spectacular... he was also a slightly better rebounder and shooter.

I might be reaching, but, what about comparing him to Dino Radja?

Dino was a very good player (20+10 one season if i'm right) but he was a legit 6-11 big man... a PF/C...

While Danilo, although almost 6-10, he's a perimeter player. A SF who can play some minutes at the 2 and 4 positions...

I'd say he can be a cross between Turkoglu and Bodiroga (if you don't know him, he's one of the best euro of all-time, picked by Sacramento but never played in the NBA because he prefered to be a star here)...

I was pretty sure Dino was a tru 4/5, I couldn't remember.
He was on some pretty bad Celtics teams as I do remember.

Bad comparison.

I think I was trying to compare him to any Euro player that made it in the NBA with that one.

Hey Toxicity, I always have a question or two in my head, for elite NBA draft prospects. For Danilo, I wonder why his number sagged in Euro play? I mean, I know he's young, but he doesn't seem to be putting up great numbers there, but is still fairly effective with his FT rate.

Would you compare it to Durant's maturation into the NBA? Do you think he will be a very effective SHOOTER (%'s) at the NBA level, or just a shaky shooter with good SCORING skills (i.e., ability to daw fouls etc.)?

I don't know what you mean since Danilo is ranked 1st in efficiency and 6th in scoring in the Italian First League... it's a league of men, not just kids like NCAA. That's why his shooting percentages from the floor are good but not great.. a 1988 born usually plays just a bunch of minutes off the bench in Europe while Danilo plays over 30 mpg and he's the main guy of his team.

In honesty, i don't know. He's not a pure shooter from outside, sometimes he's streaky... but he has a very nice shooting mechanic so it's reasonable to assume he'll improve on that. Right now he's a better slasher than shooter but in the NBA he may need to improve his outside shooting because of the much more athleticism of the defense that could limit his slashing skills... obviously his development is not completed yet, so we'll see.
