Package picks for a top 3-5 pick?
If we get the Mav's pick this year and package it with our other first round pick (most likely the 9th or 10th pick), would you consider trading them both to move up?

Depending on who got taken with the picks before us, but basically a definite yes.
That is what most people on here have been talking about doing.
I think we would need to get lucky in the lotto though and wind up with a slightly higher pick then 10 to get down to 3-5.
We would need maybe the 7th.

The thing about the lottery, is that only the 1st - 3rd picks are up for grabs. So if we don't land one of those, we stay where our record left us. So if we get lucky in the lottery, i doubt we'll be moving. Unless we're like #3 and really want the #1 pick. Maybe the 3 + dallas would get us the one.
For perspective, if we end up with the 8th worst record, we have a 2.8% chance at the # 1 pick. That equates to a 8.4% chance of top 3. If we move to the 9th worst, that moves to 1.7% for #1 and 5.1 for top 3. Let's goooo 8th worst!

It depends on the player. For Eric Gordon or OJ Mayo, I'd strongly consider moving up. I'm not sure if there's anyone else I'd do move up to the 4-6 range for.

I'm amazed at how mant people don't know how the lottery works! I'm not bagging any body but it's through out this entire web site. I'll freely admit that i don't know all the percentages but I know how it works.
My tip(for what is worth) is that Seattle will get the number one pick. The cinspiracy theory i have come up with is that the league will try and appease the seattle people over the stadium, leaving town fiasco that they will agree to build a new stadium cos they have durant plus this years number one pick. wich, in theory would be the basis of a competitive team

I think we would have to wait for draft night to see how everything lays out.
once it's our pick then we go from there. Who knows maybe someone like Mayo (doubtful but maybe) could fall right into our laps. Anyways, I dont want gordon, don't ask why its just what I feel. I'd love for this to happen. We trade up for Mayo (using our lotto plus another pick or someone like Boone maybe) then we essentially trade RJ for Gallinari to whatever team he lands to and whatever else we can get in return.
That way we could either
A) start Mayo at SG and move VC to SF while bringing Gallinari off the bench since he is a good playmaker and could help out bench decisions
or
B) start Gallinari and bring Mayo off the bench for a spark in offense when Carter sits
thoughts?

Dont blame ya, I just really want Swat hah. You know why he hasnt been playing much lately? I keep up with his stats but he hasnt been playing much it seems. Swift/Krstic really taking this many minutes from him?
