There is no way the Nets get Brand without giving up Devin Harris.

I think you made the initial mistake that the Nets want Brand badly. It's very hard to entice any team when he's missed almost the entire season. Plus the Nets FO really likes Harris. He's not going anywhere anytime soon.

The Clippers aren't going to throw both trading chips into a package that at best puts them on the edge of playoffs.

noted, but that's your opinion, and I disagree. You suggested Thornton would take Maggette's spot. Is he ready for that? I'm assuming you won't sign both Maggette and Brand. RJ replaces Maggette, Thornton comes off the bench (personally don't think he's ready to start 82 games, or plays the 4 with small ball) .... Plus you get Marcus, who can still be a above-average PG (and insurance if Livingston never returns to form) ... The other players you get are near expiring. You're saving money, but still being competitive.

I dont understand this thread.

thorn said that every team has to have a very good PG. He traded arguably the best in the league for a player that will if not isnt a Top 10 PG. Why would he trade Harris?

This is a pointless thread.

According to hoopshype, Brand has players option this year then contract is over. He will most likely take the option. Then Clippers will try to trade him this year or let him walk. Might as well wait for next year for Brand if clippers want too much for him. We can do a S&T then and he will not get as much as his current contract.

And court adjourned.

SIC, throw on some Fine Young Cannibals for me to lip sync to.

Never mind, I got it...

Any suggestion of harris in a deal is simply dumb!!!!!!!!

I can see why the attraction for Brand he is in his prime. With 30 mpg he can be a 20 ppg 10 rpg player.

The problem will be that we have to take back one contract for exchange (Mobley or Thomas) for our young players like both williams and boone.

I say go and get him!!!!!!!!
The "Turnpike" deserve a NBA championship!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't totally be against dealing Harris for Brand.

Boston won 66 games with Garnett, Allen and pierce. I know Brand Jefferson and Carter wouldn't be as good but we'd still be REALLY competitve and maybe a top 3 team in the east until we move to brooklyn. I like harris but he isn't a franchise player, if he were, Cuban wouldn't have traded him so easily.

A Swift, Harris, Van Horn and 21st for Brand trade works.(That is if both Brand and Swift pick up their option which i'm pretty sure they will).

Boone/Williams
Brand
Jefferson
Carter
Marcus

Isn't too shabby if you ask me.

Yeah, I like Harris a lot, but I think you have to do this deal.

Like I said, throw in Shaun Livinston and the deal is a lock.

I like the idea of getting Mobley as well.
Great big minute 6xth man.

With us discovering a offense and scoring over 100 ppg. I dont think it is a good idea to let Harris go.

If we pick up livingston you will lose the one man break that harris brings to the table.

Granted if we are able pick up Mobley along with Brand that would be excellent!!!!!

I believe RJ/Harris for Brand/Mobley is horrible as is. Adding the #10 to the deal is just stupid.

I think a RJ/Harris for Brand/Mobley/Clips 1st rounder this draft could be fair.
I think I would be cool with Marcus running the point with Brand/Mobley/Carter as our starters.
You can probrably trade up with the Clips pick if even needed to get whoever you wanted with the exception of Rose or Beasley as well, and still keep 2 out of 3 of our 1st rounders.
I don't know if I like that deal or not, but it is pretty fascinating.

Move that 21st to your 10th and it's a deal from the Clippers. Plus we would throw in our early second rounder this year.

Harris/Swift/KVH/#10 for Brand/#36

or

expand it since you guys would like Mobley as your 6th man

Harris/Swift/KVH/Hassell/#10 for Brand/Mobley/#36

Not sure if the second one will work financially. If not maybe add Nachbar (S&T).
