^ He is a double double only if they pick and roll with him. Other then that I dont see how he gets the double double.

He cant hit free throws. He cant hit a jumper. He has no low post game. Right now he is s sometimes double double.

I say he is a rich man's Twin. That may be harsh. How about a Rich Mans Magloire. Mark Jackson.

Believe it or not, M-Jax actually has a decent 10' jumper. I would like the rich man's Twin comparison. He is a solid man defender who got better each season at it like Twin, but he runs the floor better and can finish. Again, I love Boone but if I'm a GM and I'm trying to make a deal, I'm gonna try to get him in a package at all costs before I put Sean Williams in there.

Actually, Boone isnt even a rich man Twin. I read an article that said that the Nets missed Collins because he did all the little things: take Charges, Screens and whatever Twin did that no one else is doing right now.

Yeah I read that article too this morning. Remember though Twin was a vet though. He knew the game better. I could see us in 5 years calling Twin a rich man's twin.

Double nickel!! LOL

True he can't creat his own shot.
To be fair he's missed training camp 2 years in a row his ft percentage should go up this year.

He should play in summer league to work on his jumpshot/low post moves.

Response Prelude:

First, let me explain my point of view. I don't like the deal thats it. I am not suggesting that you fleece the team because I dont like the deal. As I said previously the salary part is the best part of the deal because when it expires.

The reason I am putting emphasis towards the height aspect with Boone it is because at this point Boone is our best low post defender. He will only get better and not Im interested in Al playing the 4.

Al will not be able to defend and rebound which means all he will become is RJ backup at 10 Mi for two years.

If I can remember K-mart struggle mightily against the better power forwards.

There is no need for Wright when you have Swill our strategy should be to help him work on his dribling, shooting and defense.

Although you are saying getting Brand or JO are pipedreams but that player would help our young players even Nenad can benefit.

Simply I would do a different deal than the one you are suggesting.

...finally some explanations to the mayhem. Regardless, I still think you're overvaluing Boone. I feel a deal like this comes along, it's dumb not to pass up. The MLE is there for us to sign a guy who is just as good a defender as Boone to help you sleep at night.

^ Let me give you another reason for protecting your young players. Boone is still under his rookie contract. Management has better control what type of money they can give him as he continues to develop.

Dont get me wrong for the right deal I would have no problem of using him in a deal.

There is one thing that is becoming apparrent that younger players are starting to have impacts on their teams sooner than later.

The move for a two year expiring I rather take a chance on a better veteran than Al. The pipe dream for me is to do this without giving up the 10th or 21st.
