My Heart Is Fluttering...

... but for a different reason than it was 24 hours ago.

Yes, the excitement of draft day has steadily built for the past week, but now, I am fearful of our FO.

First, we miss out on bringing in Jermaine O'neal, and see him go to a division rival. This move all but LOCKS us into 3rd place in the Atlantic division next year, as a best case scenario. I don't know about you, but I feel Marcus+Josh+21+expirings is more appealing than Ford+17+expirings; why didn't we pursue JO more fervently?

Secondly, word is leaking out that Thorn and Co. are targeting Robin Lopez, if Gordon doesn't fall to us. Yes, I didn't write Brook. Robin, the Jarron of this Stanford twin duo. Words cannot express how disappointed I will be, if the Nets pick him in the lottery. I guess we may not be picking him 10th though, as a deal is in the works with Portland for their #13 selection. I just don't see how Jarrett Jack and the #33 pick will help us, and some have rumored that we are sending Marcus in the deal. IF so, we're getting fleeced.

It's time for me to go to bed. All I can do is hope for a better tomorrow, because basketball news today sucked for this Nets fan.

Let's be real here, no matter what the Trade Checker says, any trade of JO that did not involve Jefferson or Carter was not viable from a financial standpoint. Even if it was, I was far from sold on the idea of blowing up all depth for what very well may equal 45 games of JO. With that part said, good riddance to all the JO talk. Trading RJ + for him would have been insanity IMO.

As to the draft, I have no problem with the trade down rumor (if Gallinari's still on the board) as long as Marcus isn't involved. Now if pick 13 is used on Robin Lopez...

I've heard nothing but fantastic news in regards to the Nets' draft outlook. Thorn said that it is looking like Bayless, Gordon, or Brook will fall to ten (small chance of Love). I'd be happy with any of those guys.

Regarding the POR deal, you have to keep in mind that very little trade talk actually gets leaked out. This is just one deal that was discussed and it appears to be nothing more than a contingency plan in the case of Gallinari falling to 10, in which case the Nets would still get him at 13 while adding a backup PG and an early 2nd rounder. Anyways, I doubt they are seriously thinking of Robin Lopez at 10 considering the other options that will be available. All that has been said is that Thorn likes Robin about as much as he likes Brook.

Hearing they have a shot at Gordon or maybe even Love (the two guys I absolutely want on the Nets) is the best draft news I've heard all year.

I feel the o'Neal tarde will just put more prssure on rod thorn to make a blockbuster deal, we all know there is changes commin', plus Jermaine O'Neal will miss his annual 25-30 games a season and so on...

Say we aquire brand without givin up any major players are lineup will be better then theirs

Harris>Calderon
Carter>Parker(or whoever they have)
Jefferson>?
Brand>O'Neal(or equal to)
Krstic<Bosh

so our lineup is better, the raps have so many issues , they dont have a sg or any good sf's

Return to Brooklyn Nets
