... a PF.
That's right, ladies and gentlemen. Our lottery pick, the Standford product and 7', 250-lb low-post scorer Brook Lopez has never, ever consistently played the center position. He has always had his brother Robin man the pivot spot, so we should anticipate his transition to the NBA and a new position being a rocky one.

....this is me caring. Most centers in the league are not true centers anymore anyway. I'm not worried the least bit.

If his TWIN brother can play C, then I think he can. They are the same exact size (Brook 5 pounds more, thats a plus) but just have different skill sets.

If the Lopez twins aren't Centers i don't know who else is in this years draft.
7' 0.5" in shoes , 256 pounds , 7' 5.5" Wingspan and a 9' 5" standing reach . A Center and PF in the NBA play very similar anyway .

He has all the measurables to be a quality C in this league. I'm making a point, that his transition to the NBA might be harder than some might expect from a dominant college sophomore. We all know that the best group of bigmen in America last year was in the Pac Ten. But the majority of Brook's production came against PFs in the Pac Ten, guys who were 3 or 4 inches shorter and 20-30 lbs lighter. He won't be able to dictate his offensive attack with his body anymore, and many times may face a strength and quickness disadvantage in the NBA.
If you want an objective opinion on Brook, see this DraftExpress thread. It's somewhat antagonistic, true (and it's not me), but at least you get a balanced viewpoint of our new C.
Does everyone gloss over these issues in their mind? If so, you might be in for a rude awakening. I'm just opening the discussion now, so we don't expect the world all at once from the kid.
