Pacer Fan here looking for a PF

Post#1 » by blaha112 » Mon Jun 30, 2008 5:12 pm

You guys have about 90 billions pfs... the pacers would love to have one!

What about Shawne Williams plus Daniels (expiring)?!?! what could that get us?

I would do a S/T Krstic for Shawne Williams & S/T Kareem Rush.

Stromile Swift (expiring) + Krstic

Krstic is more of a center but can play PF like he did last year... Maybe I'd trade Boone instead of Krstic but I'm kind of reluctant to do so because Daniels doesn't seem to be the greatest guy off the court and I'm not completely sold on Shawne Williams.

The Nets also don't have a power forward who can duplicate what Boone does while they do have players who can do things similar to what Krstic can do.

A combo of Hibbert and Krstic (if he returns to form, which I hope he does regardless of where he ends up playing) would also work nicely together.

Even with Shawne's legal problems, I'd love to land him. If we were able to do a S&T Krstic for Williams and Daniels (who I actually loved when he was on Dallas), I would be cool with that. I think Shawne having CDR (fellow UM boy) and Vince watching out for him/helping him would keep him in line. I'm completely fine with Daniels playing back up to Harris to. They're similar players so we wouldn't have to change our tempo when they come in for each other.

Only problem is our roster is pretty loaded with players right now. We aren't looking for a 1 for 2 deal. We're looking to give someone 2-3 players and get 1-2 back in return...so we'd probably try to pawn of a package that includes Stro/Marcus/Filler for Shawne/Daniels first so we could free up a roster spot. I think even with our loaded front court, Pacers and Nets are a hard to trade with right now. A third team would probably be needed.

Indy's not in a position to make a 2 for 3 type swap as well.

A straight up Shawne Williams for Josh Boone swap would work well for me.

Some form of S&T of Krstic and filler (maybe Ager) for Shawne and Daniels would work as well.

Realistically, what do you think Krstic is going to expect in a S&T?

Because of his knee injury that's plagued him the last 2 seasons and all, I don't think he's gonna get much. Pre-injury we were concerned he was gonna get somewhere in the 10 mill range and I felt a 7-footer with his abilities deserved something in the 7-8 range. Now, I think teams are gonna demand all the doctors notes on his knee. If everything is solid and a team was desperate for a big man with range who is as young as Nenad, he can get MLE range. I personally think most of the offers, if he gets any, will be in the 4-5 mill a year range. Probably 4 years in the 18-24 million range somewhere with an option for a 5. The low end of that range will probably have a health or production bonus too like Camby's deal has.
