Post#1 » by BK Nets » Tue Jul 1, 2008 2:51 pm

Here's my first pass of current roster.. glaring hole we have is scoring, and too many bigs. What do you think?

PG Harris / M. Williams
SG Carter / CDR
SF Simmons / Hassel
PF Yi Jianlian/S. Williams/R. Anderson
C Krstic/Boone/Lopez

An Athletic swing man ala Al Harrington or Pietrus

A spot up shooter. I'd love life if we could snag Bellinili from Golden State for Marcus. This could go down if they lose Baron and they want a young PG to back up Ellis.

I may be looking too far ahead, but in rebuilding, fans always do. I've got a question. Say we have a No. 5 pick next year. Blake Griffin, Demar DeRozan, Ricky Rubio, and BJ Mullens are all taken. Do we take Brandon Jennings with Harris still on the team?

You take BPA, and work out a trade later.

Piertrus at SF would be ideal, Ron Artest also picked up his option which sacto which means we could also do a trade for Ron and he comes off the books next year.

Harrington would be cool too, and he brings outside shooting which we need at that 3 spot.

Our main concern is the perimeter areas, and of course, praying that one of our big men develop into something worth a damn.

I say we dont sign anyone and we take our chances with the lottery and trading up for

James Harden

Clutch player. A leader, who has the ability to will his team to victory. Similar to Manu Ginobili, he is a tremendous team player who would rather win and score 10 than lose and score 40 ... Very cerebral.
nbadraft.net.

or

Demar DeRozan

His explosiveness is on the elite level for the NBA ... Already has a strong body and will only get stronger as his frame continues to fill out, so he'll be able to finish without any strength issues ... His game has improved tremendously in the past year. He now has a package of offensive skills including the ability to create shots off the dribble as well as range out to college three ... Has developed slick ball handling ability with a mean crossover, which he uses well to get by opponents to the basket or for setting up his outside j ...

Depending what happens this year, Either of those guys would work nicely with ......

I think I would trade down and take james harden, or just take him with our pick. I think he would be a perfect fit for us. Or we could trade down and take someone like tyreke evans, gerald henderson or wayne ellington. .....just imagine though if we landed top 2, that's the real question. Griffin or DeRozan :droop: :droop: :droop: :droop: :droop: :droop: :droop: :droop: :droop:

The team could use more backcourt depth. 2 young vets 1 to backup Harris the other to lower VC's minutes.

Harrington, would be a good fit!!!!!!!!! Cant believe i'm saying this. But with the way we are currently constructed Josh Childress would be excellent.

Maybe somebody should create a thread on next year potential lottery players.
The "Turnpike" deserve a NBA championship!!!!!!!!!!!!!
