Any News On Darrell Armstrong?

Post#1 » by vc vincanity » Fri Jul 11, 2008 6:20 pm

He really didn't score much or really do anything. He averaged 2.5ppg, 1.3rpg, and1.5apg. But Lawrence barely gave him any time because we had Marcus. But DA really motivated everybody. He was like a mascot, and he was always energetic. I really would want the NETS to sign him for 200k next season. He would take cause no team would want him.

Isn't that impossible to sign somebody amount? I thought it was 410 or 420K or something.

I would love Armstrong back as well, but I doubt he would even want to come back to this team. There isn't even room for him, especially if we sign Dooling or Pargo.

i agree with u 100% DA was a energy on the bench and really motivated the players to doo better he was lik anotherc coach on the bench, i think its important to bring him back especially on a young team cuz he can really teach the youngins something. if not as a player i think they should make him assistant coach

I'd rather go with a young energy PG like Pargo or Dooling they're probably looking for longer deals. If we can't get anyone else I'll take the ancient Armstrong.

I thought I heard he was going to retire and stay on as a coach.. maybe I made that up though. To whoever made the comment that nobody would want him, I think you'd be surprised. Also, he can't be signed for 200k thats not the vet minimum.

Down with NJN since Kenny and Derrick

I thought the vet min for a guy with his tenure is at least like 700-800k?

Regardless, until we may some moves to free up spots (we have 16 under contract now not including Nenad), he's a goner. I'd love for him to be an assistant but we have a surplus of guard/swingman coaches and no big man coaches.

As I said before DA should be hired on Larry Frank's coaching staff. He can help with Marcus Williams and Devin Harris development.

Irregardless (love the word!) of where he goes, I hope he stays visible in the league.

I was very impressed with his character, demeanor, and what he did in the limited playing time he was given. He always gave it his all and was a total pro.
