I'd agree with that. K-Mart also had a killer instinct. He wanted to eat everyone and their babies too Mike Tyson style. Sean looks too docile to become that but I still hold out hope.

Ratliff in his prime was a fantastic player.

not even close...sorry...there are certain attributes Sean has that might remind you of Kenyon...but I can only hope he can become that type of a player...lets start with consistency and limiting mistakes and TOs...

but I'm a big fan of SW...I think he can make things happen and play a nice role in igniting this team...

All I ask for from this team is for 1 guy to step up and be the potential "murderer" of the group. We need a guy that at all times looks like he wants to take a shiv out of his sock and end someone. Kinda like how Kenyon was when he was on the Nets or Gerald Wallace now. We need someone to intimidate on a deeper level. Sean has potential to be this guy, he just needs someone to light a fire under is @$$

I find it odd that people say Williams needs to get stronger and then say he could be like Marcus Camby if he does. Marcus Camby was a lanky, skinny guy when he was drafted in '96, around 220lbs. 12 years later he still is thin compared to the majority of players he goes up against.

Technique and timing is what gave Camby a nice, long career. Sean Williams can always use the workouts to get strong, but I don't see that as a priority to him becoming a better player. Awareness, working on learning the techniques, and being able to apply the awesome athletic skills in a manner that makes him as efficient as he can be is the key to how far and long his NBA career will be.

And I agree that during his 4 years in Philly Theo Ratliff was a force on the defensive end. Unfortunately bad injuries knocked him way down for the count and he never recovered to the level he briefly achieved. His nickname should have been fragile. So from that point of view I can understand why people think Williams should hit the weightroom, but there's no guarantee that adding muscle equals success or longevity. Looking at a tough bruiser like Sheldon Williams is proof of that.

By the way, as I've been following the Grizzlies(not a big fan, but just curious) since my Sonics got ripped away from Seattle I've said on a few occasions that Sean Williams would look great in Memphis.

^^^ I would agree with that. I'd want Lowry/Warrick/Darko for Williams/Ager/Stro. I don't think the Grizz want a 3rd go around with Stro though lol.

10-15 more pounds of muscle along with a killer instinct will make him become this easy.

I love Sean and he has every tool to become a beast on defense and decent on offense. The question is will he improve and does he have the heart to perform well on a consistent basis? Only time will tell.

What's he up to this off season I wonder. Working really really hard I hope.

Off-season, between rookie season and sophomore season is huge. During the season, with the grueling schedule, it's hard to get practice time in to work on young player fundamentals.

All the great young players talk about how they put in so much time during the off-season to work on skills and fixing flaws they found themselves lacking in their first season.

After we see him on floor with real playing time for a couple weeks I think I'll know how his NBA career will turn out.
