I still firmly believe with the rosters he had that with a different better coach we could have had a better regular season record, therefore a higher seed, and went deeper into the playoffs in one of the years we were healthy with the big 3, namely the year everyone was relativly healthy all season.

I don't really know if we were a true contender, especially because the lack of a post presence, which can be attributed to never aggresively pursuing the correct free agents with the MLE, or going out on a limb and making a risky big trade, but I still feel we should have at least made it to the conference finals one of those 2 years.

A lot of that has to be blamed on Opie.
With the lineups he had, almost any coach in the league could have gotten 40 something wins and made it to the 2nd round.

second that.

I just never understood how he thought that 48 minutes of vince and especially RJ isos were the way best use the personnel on this team. That's after a whole offseason of touting this new motion offense we were gonna implement. This guy is all talk because he just doesn't know where to go from there. Leave him in PR or something.

I understand many posters want Frank gone, but Frank does both good and bad things and in order to accurately judge his coaching ability you have to acknowledge that.

People just want to make Frank the scapegoat for EVERYTHING that goes wrong... the problem is that's just wrong.

well said I agree 100%

you guys should def start lopez and sean williams at C and PF. and have boone off the bench. i don't get why frank has not been playing sean williams much in the pre-season. at the start of pre-season it was like "this guy has had a great training camp he is gonna be starting center" and then after a few games he's on the bench again. give the kid some extended minutes dammit.

he is in my fantasy team so i want him to play! be realistic, do you guys think i should drop him? do you foresee him getting minutes at this point in time? cos i might drop him and pick up nate robinson.

Also, vince4pres..i dont understand how you can say boone's offensive and defensive game is much better than sean and stro. what can boone do on either end that it leave those guys in the dust? boone has no offensive game of his own. his offense consists of a few oopsy daisy buckets and his D is soft. I guess he's a bit better at positioning but he's also played 5 times as much as sean. I'm sure sean could catch up if given the time. As a rookie, he can't pay for every mistake like Frank likes to make him do. It's counterproductive. if not given good teaching in practice, he needs time on the floor.

Besides, in rebuild mode, now's the time to let those guys develop on the court.

Also, im not sure how you know in which lineup Yi is effective. Being that Yi can't play the 3 most of the time, he would not be included with that lineup anyway so if thats the case, your point there is moot.

Very well said on Boone... I agree that his D is soft. On opening night he blocked a couple shots but I don't see him maintaining that level of aggression on defense for any kind of consistent basis.

Also his lack of athletic explosiveness is often exploited... I think Caron scored an easy finger roll right in his face....
