ragtime...

honestly I was an advocate of Stromile Swift coming to the Nets...there is no real mystery to what Stro can and cannot do...as others have mentioned, for obvious reasons, Stro will most likley be dead last on the depth chart at his position...Unless an injury or sudden increase to Stro's production occurs, brace yourself for the reality of him getting close to no playing time in the near future...this isnt a knock on the guy, he no longer carrys the "weight" on a NBA team he once did...but its still nice to have him at the end of your bench...he's not a complete scrub or complete waste...

and just some advice, you need to let go a bit with your obsession...I understand your fan, but its getting difficult to read you consistently trying to convince others that Stro can make a difference...I'm respectfully asking you to leave it alone until he's at least healthy or until there is actually something to really talk about...

I'm not looking at this season as a chance to win the championship. i'm saying, if we are high on this guy's potential, let's see if he pans out. That wont happen if he's nailed to the bench. It's not like we're risking a championship by giving these guys a chance.

It's also because I'm very low on Boone's ability to get better. There's just not much he can do about his lack of athleticism and softy play. I say, you develop the guy who is able to do those things but is at the moment not as mature a player. You can develop maturity, but you can't change someone's physical attributes.

Here's the thing.

I doubt we win the championship this year.

I only say doubt, because you never know, there is always the slimest of slim possibilities an incredible trade comes along that Rod can't turn down, even if it comprises the chance we have room for a max FA.

But, I think this team does have a shot at the playoffs, going maybe 42-40 and proving evryone wrong.

That said, I really wanted James Harden, and unless he has a horrible season, he is a lottery pick, and without our own lottery pick.........I think you see where I'm going with this.
But we have assets, such as Sean Williams, Boone and future picks, who if not traded before the season can be traded in the offseason to move up in the draft.

Anyway, I still think we have a shot at the playoffs, but at the same time I want Sean to develop, so I think he should average maybe 10 minutes a game until he shows he deserves more.
This would mean more play off of favorable matchups, so there maybe games he gets 25 minutes and there maybe games he gets 8 minutes and there are going to be games he gets DNPs.

Well either way, whether we're trying to develop the players or attract potential trade partners, sean needs to play. For one, Rod thorn will never understand if he's worth keeping if he's just sitting there. And secondly, other teams wont give up much for a benchwarmer either.

If you want to get in the lottery, then why not experiment with the single biggest question mark on this team? And even if you want to make the playoffs, are we really gonna lose that many more games playing sean more and boone less?

I say we at least figure out who in the world this guy is because we dont risk much in trying to do so. Whether we keep or trade, let's at least know what we're keeping or losing like we did with antoine wright.
