Nicknames for the Rooks....

Post#1 » by vincecarter4pres » Sun Nov 16, 2008 4:17 am

It is pretty sad when your nickname maybe something as unoriginal as B-Lo or as lame as Pez.
Thriller is solid, but it just ain't it.

Ryan Anderson is yet to recieve one either.

During tonight's broadcast of the game Carrino and Spanarkel mentioned that Brook and Lpez are becoming like best friends.

CDR already has one of the coolest nicknames in the league, Buckets.

So how about Mr. Pink and Mr. White?

Thoughts?

So if B-Lo is unoriginal and Pez is lame, you come up with Mr. Pink and Mr. White?!? :noway:

I'm fine with Pez for Brook cause I like pez. I normally call him Brooksy cause I enjoy that name

Every time I think of Anderson, I always call him Bryan Ryan...if you know the movie I got that from, then you're as sad as I am!

I was thinking that was gonna happen...so how bout Mr. Blonde and Mr.White?
Brook can be Mr. Blonde, the pschyco, figuring he has the mean streak, Anderson can be Mr. White, the killer with a conscience.

Although I'd say not everyone should have a nickname, I would go with "Mr. Anderson" too but then the announcers have to say it in Agent Weaving's tone. The Matrix reference fits as Mr. Anderson is basically your seemingly normal dude which fits the perception of Anderson - then when he goes crazy they can say stupid crap like he's in the Matrix or NEO for 3 again !!

What's Devin's nickname - I've read "blur" but does he 'officially' have one ?

Yeah, Mr. Anderson is solid.

The Blur is horrible, but not because it is a bad nickname.
The reason the Blur is horrible is because it is already Barbosa's nickname and the NBA nickname recycling madness needs to come to an stop!
You have Kevin Martin stealing Keyon Martin's.
Jason Terry is the Jet, yet Kenny Smith was the Jet.
Then you have idiots like Amare giving themselves nickname's, which is completely uncool unless you are Shaq.
Where did it begin?!
When will it end?!
End rant.

BTW, I like the Dude, as in Devin the Dude and it also has implications towards the movie the Big Lebowski, which is a classic, of course.
But I am up for suggestions.

Brook = Twin 2.0 :lol:
CDR = CDR (buckets was Tony Delk, a.k.a. Tony Buckets)
Ryan Anderson = Mr. Anderson (you just gotta)

I was unaware Tony Delk was called Tony Buckets, must have been from college or before, but even in college I was a fan and don't remember that.
Buckets has been CDR's nickname from I believe HS.

I have a two-fer nickname for Yi Jianlian and Brook Lopez, that some may not like. But here goes:

www.netsdaily.com/images/0809/lopez_yi_2.jpg

Aff' and Oaf'!

Yi is the affable Mr. Nice Guy, while Brook is his often oafish counterpart. That's it, that's what I call them!
