In all honesty I just can't stand all of the gangsters in "DA RAP GAME" nowadays... They're always inventing these new word and purposely talking like idiots to make themselves sound "hood"... Aside from that they can only rap about the same 3-4 subjects, all of which I don't give a damn about.
I mean come the f' on I don't care about your "big baller" "whip" and awesome rims, and about how YOU get money.
Like god damn it...
I'm not a fan of hyping up the past and saying old school this old school that, but what happened to people rapping to make a point about real life and real events that were going on?
The glorification of stupidity in this society just pisses me off.

Hyro Da Hero is getting some cred in the punk/emo/hardcore scene for sampling a Circa Survive song. He seems to sing about some good subjects (but does have some baller songs too). His album is dedicated to a kid who killed himself from being picked on in school or something.
But I agree, there isn't enough rap that "means something" anymore. That's why I always enjoyed 2pac too. He would have his thug west coast rap songs...then drop "keep your head up" which was a great song. Rappers today need to take a cue from 2pac and Nas and all that they can be ballas and still rap about important things.

Hot trash.
Kanye is a pimadonna, egocentric, piece of garbage as well.
I like a lot of his older stuff, but I really don't care how good anything he does is anymore, he is too big an **** to have any respect for or listen too.
Primadonna, egocentric, piece of garbage? Uh...that's pretty much a pre-requisite now in rap/hop hop and why 98% of it is a weak ripoff of what was a fresh idea in 1981 but now is a cheap to make assembly line alternative to music
If I wanna FEEL something...I'd dig out Knd Of Blue (Miles Davis with John Coltrane) Otis Redding's "Live In Europe" the Stone's Exile On Main Street or one of my live Steve Earle discs. Mechanical drum machine "beats" just bore the hell out of me.
SOMEDAY.....someone in hiphop will have another original idea....or at least skip the cliche costumes and gangpunk hand signals...perhaps even involve some musicians to make it..musical.

From the perspective of a music LOVER I think he makes a damn good point. My heroes were never pimps or pseudo pimps. I don't find the grafitti on a stall wall to be great lyrics or something to dwell on. I get tired of some guy posing as more low life than he probably is and putting on a "show" basically bragging on what a great F**k he is and how bad he treats women and how criminally inclined and uncivilized he is. Is that the world we want? A jailhouse, crackhead set of values? "Music" that's so simplistic that on the streets..windows up and bass cranked...every song sounds just alike
