The system is clearly flawed. Yi can be a legit All-Star, of that I have no doubt, but that's 3/4 years from now. The NBA is obviously pandering to the Chinese market. Same thing happened with Yao. Business, afterall.

Well, I like KG and Yi, ad I also like Bosh.. I don't mind seeing kg and bosh start and yi off the bench I want to see yi there too.. yi is the sophmor team..people forget that the allstar games has rookie team vs the sophmor team..

The allstar game is for fans to vote for their players to be there... the allstar game is for fun..on a weekend.. the game not even serious..

The allstar systm has been this way for years.. does anyone remember when magic Johnson retired from basketball cause of HIV positive.. well many years later he try a come back and was voted for the allstar team.. his game was no way back at allstar level but still got voted anyway..and how about when Michael Jordan came out of retirement and join the wizard team, eventough his game wasnt there anymore he stll got voted to start the allstar.. nobody say anything.. now cry me a river!

hmmm

blah blah blah :D

Might as well start voting for Sun Yue as all-star starting guard...now that Yi has a chance to make an all star squad

Alot of peole in china can't even afford a computer not to mention even an internet at home..

compare to the U.S almost everyone has a computer and internet at home.. why arent everyone in the u.s vote for ray allen or paul pierce..? or why dont canadian vote for chris bosh?

The number of people in china who do have access to the internet is still pretty big compare to everywhere else, plus china has tons of those internet cafes......Canada is a hockey country...majority of the people watch hockey not basketball, tho the raps fanbase is big, its not big enough to give Bosh a major advantage

This garbage must change. No slight on Yi, but he has proved nil and no one in the NBA views him as even a starter who can contribute. Maybe a couple years from now he will be, but not now.

Yi has been a starter and solid contributer this year.
Its ok that you dont watch Nets' game and I understand where you coming from, but based on your criteria C.Bosh shudnt even be considered as Raptors is dead last in their division.

Wow, you are quite off on that. I watch as many teams in the league as I can and have a nice satellite system that gives me YES and subsequently I end up watching a ton of Nets games because a) I have a vested interest in Vince (love/hate) and because the Nets are a rising force in the Atlantic.

Now, I am aware Yi is starting in Jersey but I am not sold on him right now. I like his size, jumper and age, but for him to be voted in as a starter gives NBA fans worldwide to rip on him and the system in which he was voted in. If Yi was the same player and was from Belarus, he wouldn't even be on the list. And putting Yi and Bosh in the same sentence shows you do not watch Raptor games.

Finally, as we sit in December, be very sure that the standings will look much different in the coming months. Jersey surprised many teams and kind of snuck up. They are being scouted and are going to be exposed a bit more as we move on. Same goes for the Raps.
Let's wait and see until March, to see who sits where in regards to seeding.

hummm I guss china has about 1.3 billion people but Yi only recieved about 350,000 vote...who figure.. not to mention I voted 7 times already for Yi and his nets teamate..and not forge you guys votting for yi to start the allstar too so you can use him an example to change the allstar voting..how pityful... hehehe

Toronto is a basketball town too.. look at the rapter home game, is packe ..Toronto can vote for chris bosh..and he will have alot of vote but I guess not..

NBA all star game weekend is about popularity.. it has been this way for decade.. if u start changing things no one will watch or vote for the allstar..

Yi can't affort to be an all star, any guy love Yi should not vote for him.

in recent games, Yi suffered a lot, but i think it's helpful for him.

If you suspect that Yi did not try his best, I won't surprise.

*sigh* why do people think this whole vote for YI movement is based on how he is doing this season...

You've got to appreciate the irony that has Devin Harris behind Luke Ridnour in the all-star voting, though. Devin Harris is from Milwaukee. What city do you think the fans are from whom are primarily voting for Ridnour?

If a 10/6 power forward who has a -6 PER differential and embellished his youth by 3 years, not only makes, but starts in the all-star game; things kind of evened out and then some for Nets' fans. But basketball purists lose.
