What a horrible last two plays, but at least Harris hit the game winner. I was so ready to get a knife and shank Frank, but once again, the players bail him out.

Teixeira isn't worth 30 mil(that's including the luxury tax we'll pay for him)... If you tought A-Rod and Jeter hit into a lot of Double Plays, you're gonna love Teixeira

Yeah it's cool that the red sox didn't get him but if we hadn't offered him 180 mil, the highest bid would have been by Washington almost securing him to go to the NL.

Manny would have made more sense.. way better hitter, his hate vs boston would have been a plus AND the deal would have been shorter... God I hate this deal with a passion even moreso than giving A-Rod 300 mil... /end rant

Yeah, but how many players are actually worth their contracts? In the end, we addressed a need with several bats leaving our lineup this offseason. Teixeira's got some good numbers. He's young and even though a lot of people thought we could move Posada to 1st soon, I still don't think this is that bad of a deal.

Now if the MLB had a salary cap, my attitude towards the deal would be drastically different.

Well we had $80 million coming off the books this season and so far it's something around $60 million we spent for this year. The offseason's not over yet... But in all seriousness, I doubt we spend more money on another huge contact. I would've liked Manny, I still would like Manny. But we seriously need to get rid of some of our guys in the outfield first. That's probably why the Yankees front office moved in on Teixeira first than Manny.

Yes the defense is better with Teixeira but that alone isn't worth 100 mil especially when the other player is the better hitter AND thrives in the playoffs.

I was fine with the sabathia signing even though he has an ERA over 5 in the playoffs throughout his career. I even liked the 'IR' burnett deal since has nasty stuff, but this deal will be forever remembered as the the signing that ruined my christmas(not really, but I still dislike this deal and will be the first one to point out everytime he hits into a double play.. I'll probably manufacture my own Teixeira sucks ass T-Shirt..

plz, the yankees are all about reinvesting to their fans, they owe us, and no u do not pass up, on a switch and dangerous hitter, you have to take the good with the bad, AJ is high risk, high reward type of guy, the yankees moves are remniscent to ones like the Boston Celtics...

He's never won a playoff series, hasn't finished higher than 7th in MVP voting nor does he take his team to the next level...

If we wanted a dangerous hitter, why not go after Manny?? better hitter with a shorter deal.
