I would be against it despite the additional cap room. I don't think the 1st round picks would be worth much since you'd have VC, Bosh, and Calderon.

Thats not happening Bargnani is useless to us and Kaponos contract sucks for us . He's a championship asset and we are nowhere near a contender especially with Vince gone .

You never know. One injury to JO and the season is in huge danger.
Kapono can be dealt to another team while Bargs is another nice piece to build around once his confidence gets back up. He's a lot better than Yi, at any rate.

As much as some (many? all?) Nets fans bash on Yi, he's having a better year than Bargnani. Kapono would be a bloated contract to us, and you can't trade consecutive 1st-round picks. We would seek value elsewhere; TOR just doesn't have the pieces to make a competitive offer.
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

This deal wouldn't be allowed anyway. Toronto would have to give us their 2009 and 2011 picks because you can't trade consecutive picks. Regardless, I think Yi is gonna be better than Bargs. They're essentially the same player, why would we see this deal and be like "oh man rock on!" Plus Kapono is worthless in my eyes. Great shooter, but he's a role player. He's not a starter in the NBA. If I'm trading Vince. I want a starting quality SG or SF in return that is a solid slasher and shooter. He doesn't need to be an all-star or anything, but at least a starter caliber player.
Nets never touch this deal. Honestly, Toronto doesn't really have the chips at all to make the Nets think about trading Vince. You'd definitely need to bring a 3rd team into it.

If I was Toronto, I'd to that and run.

Kapono's contract is pretty lousy. I'm sure Bargani still has value, but he's completely redundant with Yi/Anderson here already.

Would you guys trade Vince for T-mac? Yes T-mac value is low, but with his expiring you can probably have enough to sign 2 max contracts.
