Thanks to all for the posts, particularly SpeedyG. And by the way, it would've been ok to leave "Sonics" in there.

Nenad Krstic was my favorite Net player behind Jason Kidd throughout his first couple of years with the team. Through his first three years with the Nets (from 2005 to 2007), Krstic put up great stats:

2004-2005: 10.0 PPG, 0.8 BLK, 5.4 RBDS, 49.3% FG
2005-2006: 13.5 PPG, 0.8 BLK, 6.4 RBDS, 50.7% FG
2006-2007: 16.4 PPG, 0.9 BLK, 6.8 RBDS, 52.6$ FG

Just by looking at the first three years of Krstic's career, we can compare a number of statistical categories that show how wonderful of a player Curly not only was, but had the potential to become. Some important points to consider just by looking at these numbers:

-There was a steady yet significant increase in every important statistical category from his rookie year to his sophomore year, and onto his junior year. I find this to be the clearest sign that Krstic had great potential within the NBA; most players hit some kind of sophomore slump and the team continously changed its lineup throughout these years, making this all the more impressive.
-His field goal shooting percentage during his rookie year was a blistering 49.3%. He was probably the most consistent shooter on the Nets team throughout those three years. :o
-His points per game increase showed that he was capable of being a solid 2nd option as a shooter behind VC, and in my eyes, before Jefferson.

The best part about Nenad Krstic was that he consistently got better throughout his first three years in the league and showed amazing potential. His shot was a thing of beauty considering his height and he was just beginning to develop an interior presence before his injury. He's only 25 years old too.

I would take Krstic over Najera ANY day, regardless of whether or not Krstic ever came back to full form. :-?

And I always thought that Nenad was quick yet versatile enough to be a power forward.

PG: Harris
SG: Carter
SF: Hayes
PF: Krstic
C: Lopez

That would have been as potent of an offense as any starting five the Nets could come up with based upon their current roster.

I loved nenad as a net. He was also my favorite net behind Kidd. He had the potential of being a really good player in this league. His injury got in the way. But the nets only gave him one season to prove himself after the injury. Really he didn't even get a full season after the injury to come back. Set backs in his recovery killed his confidence.

If Krstic can regain his confidence then I have no doubt he will reach his potential and be the player he was before the injury and be better. the confidence is key. If he comes in and things don't go well for him at first he might drift away. If he comes in and things go good then he will build it back and regain form. I guess the good thing about him going to OKC is that they have a bad team and don't win so he will get playing time no matter what and that will help he come back. On the nets he would sit on the bench if he wasn't having a good game and that (as frank has done to many players) will kill his confidence.

The nenad before the injury was a very good shooter, had a good touch around the rim, new where to be on the floor on both ends, had a good bball IQ. Needed to get better at rebounding and defense, but what young big man doesn't need to improve at those two things. Every one knocked his defense but I didn't think they gave him enough credit. He held his own against some really tough players to guard.

So I'm glad that Nenad is getting a chance to come back to the NBA. while I'll miss him as a net I am happy for him that he will finally get a chance to get back to the form he was in before the injury. I hope he makes it.
