Caron Butler/Vince Carter

Post#1 » by JKiddy » Mon Feb 16, 2009 6:48 pm

This is a trade the could very well happen. I wanted to keep this separate from the other thread in order to focus solely on this deal.

What would you guys think?

The Nets would also add a pick if needed (1st round protected or 2nd round pick).

I love Vince. But, we need to save some money, stay somewhat competitive, and build for the future. This allows us to do just that. Caron is an All-Star. Vince is an All-Star. But, Caron is 4 years younger and both of these teams need a shake up. We give them VC and a promising player in Boone plus a pick. Ager comes off the books after this year and helps them save a few bucks. We really only have interest in Butler and can cut the other two players if need be.

Thoughts?

Please tell me your thoughts on dealings with the Wizards and if you like the deal OR if you would change it slightly...

By all accounts, Washington is looking to reduce payroll.

It's kinda a sideways move. Not only are Wiz looking to save $$, but this trade doesn't help them. And it really doesn't help us all that much even if Butler stays healthy and plays 60 games next year.

i still think right now keeping vince is the smartest move unless we land stoudamire first. and even then, it would need to be for the right price, as for now i really like vc for artest.
