Bulls/Knicks Trade

Post#1 » by Preludepunk27 » Thu Feb 19, 2009 6:25 pm

Chad Ford just said it before he ended his live chat a minute ago.

Knicks send Tim Thomas & Jerome James to Chicago for Larry Hughes

Guess they liked that more than anything we threw at them the last few weeks. I know some of you are breathing a sigh of relief now.

The Knicks are close to agreeing to trades that could land them forward Chris Wilcox and guard Larry Hughes, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

The acquisitions would come in two separate trades.

New York would reportedly send Malik Rose to Oklahoma City for Wilcox, and Tim Thomas, Jerome James and Anthony Roberson to Chicago for Hughes.

I got a friend who works in the NBA offices and he just send me a text saying the Knicks also traded Anthony Roberson and Malike Rose for Chris Wilcox too.

Edit: Not entirely true.

Tim Thomas, Jerome James and Anthony Roberson for Larry

Malik Rose for Wilcox. That's what ESPN and RealGM are saying. Still close to what my buddy said.

I think these are 2 smart moves for the Knicks. They don't take on any crazy salary. Wilcox is off the books after the season and Hughes after next season. They basically consolidated their team salary and cleared 2 roster spots. Donnie Walsh is a smart guy. He's been doing this a looooooong time.

Yeah two good moves. Smart is questionable, depending on who thought of it.

Why would we need hughes?

The guy clearly doesnt believe in team basketball. He didnt like how the offense ran on the Cavs.

He didnt like - Give the Ball to Lebron, when he is doubled, you get the ball back. Doubt he stays in NY especially if Lebron is in the picture.

Edit:

Not much of a difference. All those Knick contracts were up before 2010.

Wilcox frees up money next season. Hughes on until 2010. So not much of a difference. Hughes might be a detriment if he doesnt conform to offense. He will help defensively, but if he doesnt get his way offensively it might effect the D. Thomas was playing well too. So we shall see.

I don't no i'm just pissed the way the Nets been playin lately.Win 4 lose 4 what the hell is that.I know there not great players but you gotta admit they would make us better.Maybe not with Lfrank as are coach.Wilcox would be good next to Brook watchin his back.I think he's been juicen or somethin the guy got huge out of nowhere last year. He's tuff, can grab boards, can throw it down,he got good size for pf.Larry hughes is a upgrade from simmons at least the guy can move,he's long, athletic and active on defense. They both don't affect 2010.But i'm just talkin out my ass right now cuz i'm pissed how were playing.Hopefully will woop the living s!#t out of Washington tonight cuz that always makes feel better and then i'll forget all bout this. Thanks for letting me get that out Jeff your the man

wilcox , lol just play sean williams more

hughes is terrible, but he is better than simmons but i feel like he would only play at the 2 and CDR Wouldn't even get garbage minutes or any time to develop.

those 2 = nono for us, we just need to play defense.

The Hughes trade was great for NY.
If there was any place where Hughes can excell for this season and next, it is in NY with D'antoni and their lack of a shooting guard. I have a feeling he puts up gaudy numbers.

They also open up minutes for the Italian Cock and a few extra for Chandler.

I am glad we didn't get Hughes though.
