^ If that is the case VC4Pez, by not playing Boone may come back to haunt them. The guy already has motivation and confidence issues.
Like I said in the beginning of the season, I would rather keep SWAT then Boone. With PT Swat would do everything Boone does plus more.

First, I'm just gonna stop reading Universe's posts, this guy is funny, he doesn't have any clue about what he is talking about such as...
"Pick up the lastest SLAM and you will read Vince stating that he is saving himself until the fourth Q which is rediculous since we have no scorers outside those two. This results in the offense falling on Harris shoulders"
... what the hell are you talking about? Frank is the coach, then, he needs to fix this problem immediately if what you're saying is true. That's one of the reasons why he's coaching. I think you don't really know what the value or what really is the job of a coach. Maybe, you think all they have to do is to stand on the sidelines and call plays and call timeouts when necessary, there's more than that.
And to SIC, i think we're in the same boat about the team right now, however, i'm alright with the Boone benching, i don't think he has a lot to offer and Sean has much MORE to offer. But one thing i don't get is why would he wanna bench Boone right now when he is starting to develop some plays that we have not seen before, like tapping the ball outside instead of just a rebound, this technique is what i really like to see for an undersized C's like Boone, it's more effective and it gives them a better chance for 2nd chance points.
Comments like this is priceless...
"But clapping for grown men down by 20 points. This is the time to be tough and sturn with them. Tell them you guys are F'ING UP. OPIE's coaching skills suck and most of the mistakes are because of him. So OPIE cant do anything but clap"
Ahahaha! It's funny and it's absolutely true. Also, Prelude is right because he has to remain professional even on tough situation but there's no reason to overdo it.
I agree with most of what you've said SIC, i think putting Lopez and Sean together would be more effective esp. defensively and with a good defense comes a better offense, it will create better shots for VC and the other shooters as well. Most teams, after a good defense, are better at executing the offense because their confidence is up, they're motivated more and the rhythm is there.
But for now, i think im fine with the Boone benching and although i don't like us playing small ball, for now, ima be alright with it as long as they're hitting most of their shots.

Re: Opie
$.60 I agree Frank has to stay professional.
Now to the VC saving himself for the fourth. This is going to hurt him. Does this sound familiar? Somewhat along the same lines as before. The media is going to hurt him on that statement. " Same Old Vince." I can see it coming. VC lacks motivation. VC dogging it.
After watching yesterdays game, if this statement is true, Every shot he just throws up in the first half I will think it seems obvious he is dogging it. I notice this game it in the yesterdays game. Lazy shots. Or has it always been this way. Yeah I want him to take over in the fourth, but to not take the other three quarters seriously, is a NO-NO. I will watch the next games first half.
Now Opie on this matter. PLEASE!!! Opie cant do a damn thing. He is a sucker for stars. He has no presence to do anything. Benched Harris and VC in that Celtics game. Please. He was resting his stars for the next game. He is a players coach and will always be. All he can do is
CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP!!!!!!!! CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP!!!!

Because I don't agree with you, I don't have a clue?

Our team captain who is one of the oldest players on the team needs to be talked with by our coach when he's dealing with one of the youngest teams in the league. That is all Franks fault for not sitting down with a veteran and telling him to play all four quarters.
What a horrible job though he's done with Harris the past two games. He needs more shots because he's only averaging 40.5 PPG. He should have clapped harder because that's all he does. He doesn't run practise or anything either.
As for the post about the coaches..
Mark Jacksons and Jeff Van Gundys. Mark Jackson isn't a head coach right now for a reason because Nets are not the only NBA team and he still has zero offers. Jeff Van Gundy hates to run so it's pretty much teamming Harris back up with Avery. Eddie Jordan would be the smartest choice to replace Frank and really that's taking a step sideways instead of forward.
I assume tommorrow there will be a post with "stopped reading after the first post" and that is why you guys don't learn anything.

What are you talking about? Are you with us or not? First, you disagree with the Frank bashing and now you actually said that it is his fault not sitting down with Vince, damn, that's what the f**k we're talking about! It is one of the MANY reasons why we don't like Frank and you just dont get it.
Actually... i don't really know what to tell you because your posts before was very different than your post now. There's no consistency, like the Nets system.
NON SENSE! And this time... ima really gonna stop it.

Sarcasm is not in my book, so yeah, i can't read it. People starts being sarcastic when they have nothing else to say. Sometimes others use it to get out of the situation and try to get someone else look stupid and laugh about it.
So next time you respond to me, try to be more classy and say what you have to say, no hard feelings, we're all just voicing our opinions here as Nets fans... there's no boss and no upper ranking member here, we're one.

Haha! What situation am I trying to get out of? I'm posting on a message board, not trying to back out of a fight. Classy? Classy isn't saying you won't read a post from a member because you think I know nothing about it especailly if we are 'one'. What a joke.
As for on the subject since you didn't understand what I wrote:
You expect a coach dealing with seven players under .500 to have to sit down with the TEAM captain and the oldest player on the team and tell him that he has to not be lazy and play all fourth quarters?
As for the Devin part, he's putting up 40 PPG for the past two games.

Re: Opie
I think Frank is a good coach.
The main problems I see with this team are a complete lack of motivation and effort at times. They just seem to not really care and go through the motions. Sometimes that can be attributed to the coach, but not in Frank's case, in my opinion. That was proven by the fact that he was willing to bench his two superstars, when they were yet again playing like they could give a sh*t.
I also can tell that he's the type who will really cheer you on when you're doing well, and try to fire you up when you're not, so it's not his fault.
Also, I'm really not liking Devin's body language since the benching. He's constantly turning his back on the huddle during timeouts, and it really just rubs me the wrong way. As much as we might not like to admit it, that does effect the coach too. Obviously he shouldn't let it bother him, but it can be hard to be assertive when you know that may end up being counter-productive because your star's so sensitive. Dev needs to grow up a little, I think. And please understand that he's one of my favorite players, but I'm just saying we can't blame this all on Frank.
The other main problems are them piling up missed free throws in the third and forth quarter. Again, not the coaches problem, although he could really crack the whip and force them to do a bunch of free throw drills during practice, if he isn't doing that already. I don't think that's the problem, though, since most of them are good free-throw shooters. Again, they just seem to lack focus during games. I definitely see a lack of concentration from Devin a lot of times on those free throws. Maybe it's because he's tired. But that's on him to really work on free throws after tough practices, and it's on him to will himself into concentrating, even when he's exhausted.
Lastly, and most costly, it's the damn unforced turnovers at the end of games, especially from Devin. He's a young player though, and this is his first full year of really being a focal point, so I'm sure he'll cut down on those as the years go on.
None of this is Frank's fault, and if the PLAYERS fixed those three things, I guarantee you this team would have a much better record. It's on the players to say "we're not losing this sh*t!" and to actually play like that. VC is the only one I really see that fire from sometimes. Again, if they had a coach like Nellie, who just seems like he wants to be somewhere else, than yeah, I could maybe say it was the coach. But Frank is not passive. He's clearly involved, clearly trying to motivate, and clearly wants to win. He can't put on a suit and show some heart. That's the players job.
The only problem I see in Frank's coaching is his lack of getting Lopez enough touches. However, I've gotta think there must be SOME reason for that, since it's pretty glaring. Frank isn't an idiot. So why doesn't he get Lopez more looks? Has he ever spoken on it? Perhaps he feels Devin's development is more important than Lopez's right now? And with an already alienated Devin, maybe he doesn't want to rock the boat even more right now? Dev should be happy that his coach has already entrusted him so much, which is another reason why I was so turned off by his reaction to the benching.
