I think I would have pulled the trigger and then tried to trade one of Dooling or Ridnour in the summer for 10 cents to the dollar.

EXACTLY, which is why I don't understand why our organization didn't want to make any sort of financial investment in the team. People say we shouldn't tank, but if the FO isn't going to support the team by addressing needs, then we should. We could have shopped Luke to ATL is extension talk with Bibby sour, or LAC if Davis gets injured. MEM could use another PG since they traded Lowry, and they have space under the cap. Not to mention, this is a pretty good guard, and if we couldn't find a new owner for him, it's not as though we couldn't get good use out of him. PLUS we could've had a mid-lotto swingman who everyone on draft night knew would need time to develop?

I know money is a concern, but if you're going to advertise to your fanbase that you want to be competitive, you should stand true to your word. Otherwise, blow it all up and rebuild for real.
