Gross. Just gross. This team has no pride. No heart. No desire or will. A bunch of fairies. How do you play this bad for a half? Why is Opie so stubborn? If ever there was a game to bench VC, this was it.
Just hot trash dripping with garbage bag juice mid august morning on a 95 degree day.
Please fire Frank, ship Vince outta here, hell shut him down for the season, get a good pick and regroup next year. There is just no excuse for this, refs on the W's side or not. Hell we missed something like 14 free throws ourselves. I can take a normal loss, but this is an abortion of a loss. Time to pack it in, get Al Pacino to do the Carlito's Way speech, grab the keys and jump in the tank.

This seems like one of those games that the team doesn't recover from until a couple of weeks later.

Coaching issues from this game:
- repetitiveness offensively
- using Lopez at the top of the key every set instead of down low some
- post-entry and reposting

Player issues:
- Harris over-dribbled (though it was probably Frank's call and he was the only one making plays)
- poor passing and execution offensively
- VC played like hot garbage
- got killed on the glass - not sure if it was hustle, positioning, the guards' fault or just plain luck
- Yi played terrible team defense - there's a reason he played 10 minutes
- 32 fouls - a few were intentional at the end but you can't expect to win by putting the other team in the bonus
- players were continuously late on defensive rotations and recoveries against the pick and roll

Bright spot - Sean Williams playing focused offensively and defensively. His confidence got a little high on offense and he tried to do a bit that we didn't need him to (succeeding on the crossover, failing on the fadeaway - great form though) but he brought a lot of energy and provided a spark in the 2nd when we needed it. He and Dooling were the ones that gave us a lead in the first place.

Another thing that bothers me is that Lopez rarely looks to shoot when his mans sags off him at the beginning of a play. I don't know if he has the green light from the coaching staff or not in that situation, but a couple shots from there will keep the defense from sagging off of him to help on those low screens we run.

Frank like to play lpz and other four guys who are less 200cm tall.

It's possible that Nets finally lost the playoffs and young guys like Andson, Yi, Sean and Rbsget get no progress...

Are the NETS aiming for NBA Champion this season?
OR,
They might try to improve Hayes, Hassell, Dooling, Simmons...for next decades.

I guess I disagree with the general sentiment that they didn't play with much heart or motivation. I usually feel that way about this team, but I didn't last night. I wasn't as disappointed in this loss as I usually am.

Maybe it's because I automatically went into the second half with a "they're gonna lose this lead and play flat in the third quarter" mentality, so that didn't really surprise or disappoint me. The fact that that's so commonplace that I have to think that way, is obviously a problem within itself, but it just didn't surprise me that that happened. What made this loss not as disappointing for me as it was for the rest of you, is that a lot of times they don't even bother to almost come back after that. I never felt like they were giving up, which is what usually happens with this team. They still kept up the effort on the defensive end, and it just didn't come across to me like they didn't care.

A few things:
*I agree, VC needed to drive more. He usually does when his shots aren't falling, so I don't know why he didn't last night.

*Vince actually started off hot, but then he had to sit the rest of the half with foul trouble. Disappointing that he was so cold in the second half, 'cause in the beginning, it looked like it was gonna be a great night from Vince.

*Did anyone notice that for the first time ever (well, the first time I've ever noticed it), Vince looked visibly upset about not getting the ball? Mainly because he was wiiiiiiiiiide open the times he was calling for the ball, and Devin never picked his head up once, lol. I was surprised he was so wide open, but it is Golden State, after all. Devin's non-passing in those situations would've been understandable if it were after Vince had been throwing up a ton of bricks, but this was mostly before. At one point, Dev finally threw it to him, but Vince threw it right back to him, in what looked like an agitated manner to me. Maybe it's cause the defenders were finally closing in on him by the time he got the ball. Anyway, I just found it interesting, cause I've never seen Vince get upset about this.

Having said that, Devin had 12 assists, so those moments were apparently more an anomaly. It's weird, though, I also felt like Brook was even more invisible on the offensive end than usual. It's weird that it seemed like less people were getting the ball, than in games where Dev didn't have that many assists. Maybe it's just that there wasn't as much ball movement in general. Vince also looked upset with Sean when he immediately drove and tried to shoot with two defenders on him, when Vince was once again wide open, calling for the ball.

*Dev overall had a very good game. I know the missed free throws at the beginning were annoying, and I've gotten on him for that before, but what I like is that after that, he didn't miss any more, IIRC. Usually he'll miss them throughout the game, and then really miss them toward the end, but this time it was the opposite. That shows me that he decided to really focus and get serious, after he was missing them at the beginning of the game. I like that.

*The other side just started playing better in the second half than they did in the first half. Jamal Crawford started playing like he was trying desperately to earn Nellie's unrequited love, and Stephen Jackson started hitting everything, after he couldn't buy a shot in the first half.

So overall, yes, a disappointing loss. But on the "I want to choke the sh*t out of everyone on this team" scale of disappointing losses, this one wasn't that high up for me.

Now, if they start out playing like sh*t against Portland on Friday....

I don't get Yi, by the way. I honestly feel like he almost never plays well. And even his playing "well" is pretty substandard to me. I just rarely see him creating anything good by coming into the game.

Also, I probably would've gone with Carter for that last three pointer, even though he had a rough night. He's proven he can make those clutch shots, even when he's having a bad game. Hell, he had just made the three pointer right before. Still, I can't really blame Frank for going with Dev, but I still would've went with Carter in that situation.

The Nets were drawing major contact on there drives to the basket gettin knocked to the floor but couldn't get a whistle. On the other end GS was gettin touch fouls.I still don't no what happened,we were up 12 with 3 min left in the 3rd and we go into the 4th up 2 thats horrible.Stephen Jackson hit every type of shot in the book and Crawford turned into Reggie Miller in the fourth. We have to at least win 2 games on this trip before we head to MSG.In case nobody noticed the Knicks just won the first 2 games of there road trip.

So uh...apparently there's a guy named Ryan Anderson on the Nets. Anyone heard of him?

Ryan's buried on the bench because Bobby became a power foward overnight.Lfrank is an idiot. We have the size advantage in the front and he goes small.Brook and Sean should be playing together in the 4th.There should be a parade when Lfrank gets fired.

I almost thought it was guranteed he was going to get some PT, due to the arena we were playing in...but in all honesty, he was needed during a stretch of the 3rd, and should of been utilized...

Return to Brooklyn Nets
