The link isn't working for me. Ryan Anderson is a more athletic Austin Croshere to me. Austin played in the league for a decade, was a starter or important role player on some decent teams. i consider it a compliment. I've heard other people compare him to Keith Van Horn which I'm completely fine with too.

When we first took him with that second pick I was a little upset knowing that C. Lee (Magic) was still on the board and we still had no backup SG. I thought we should have drafted him but Anderson has impressed me this season (at times) and if he does turn into a KVH type I think I can live with that. The only thing is he seems to be a bit of a tweener. He's to slow for the 3 and not strong enough for the 4 but he works hard and I think will be a soild player in this league for a while.

Reminds me a little of a young Rodney Rogers.

He's neither a great player nor an average player; I would say now that he's good. He's got a nice three point shot, he hussles on both ends of the floor, and he challenges himself to become a better player in the NBA. Considering the fact that he's not even 22 years old now, I'd say he's playing pretty damn good considering. He does have some noticable weaknesses: his defense can be porous at times, his shot can be inconsistent and he does commit typical rookie fouls. He needs consistent playing time in order to develop into a better player. He does remind me slightly of Keith Van Horn and a younger version of Bostjan Nachbar, who were both good role players.

I like to see Ryan play more often with Brook; I feel like they'll form great chemistry together and I see Brook pushing Ryan to become a better player on the floor.

KVH 2.0, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Van Horn average 22 and 8.5 one season. He was sorta considered a bust because he was a number 2 pick and never made an all-star team, but if Ryan Anderson goes on to average 15+ a game for 10 years like Van Horn did then I'd say we got excellent value on the pick

No, Ryan Anderson isn't any good. No excuse for him starting over BOTH Stromile Swift and Sean Williams.

Ryan Anderson is the man. Start him at the 4 = CHAMPIONSHIP with a Finals MVP to boot! Him and fellow Finals MVP Brian Scalabrine then can become best friends and star in a reality on Oxygen together.

He needs to be playing the 3. This guy is getting pushed through and getting beat a lot on defense. I do agree with rag-time that Sean should be seeing more minutes than what he's getting now.

yeh I agreed w. this too...a month ago...its a loss cause...

I think Ryan is getting beat up a lot for him his lack of defense...I dont think its a lack of, its the level that some of you expect...you've seen charges, consistency w. help defense...he's not a defensive player, especially in a one on one situation...I think his defensive rebounding is above avg and he brings that... bottom line, Ryan is really young...he'll never be a defensive player, probably wont be a starter in this league...but he looks better at times than KVH and he's definitely better that Croshere at the same age...

Yi's back and may push Ryan out of the starting lineup...but I still believe we need a tough nose player in the starting lineup whether its Hassle or Sean...and then sub in Ryan...

but again, we're really being a hard or sensitive about a starter by default...a kid that has shown a decent amount of b-ball talent, in a short period of time at a very young age (the positives are obvious)...lets just not criticize what he isnt and probably will never be...

I don't expect this to be Ryan's peak on defense (I do sometimes forget he's a rookie with the flashes of talent he's shown). It's just that it's very hard to try and guard the guys he's guarding who outweigh him by like 50 pounds. Sure, Sean's light too, but at least he has more experience guarding those guys in the post and knowing how to crash boards at that position. Throw Ryan in at the 3 coming off the bench, he'll shoot over guys with his height and rebound better with three guys in there at least over 6'10 from the 3-5.

Good questions. And yes. At least with Ryan, I know he's going to improve on nice talent he's been showing on the court. Boki, although having some memorable moments that one year had that horrible season in his contract year.

I agree...Ryan > Boki...so we've uprgrade w/ that role player/roster spot...IMO, w. Ryan over Boki, we've actually upgraded our roster in a lot of different ways...

If you could find the answer to this, I will stop watching basketball. I honestly don't know.
