Sean Williams Involved In Colorado Mall Altercation

Post#1 » by Rich Rane » Tue Mar 17, 2009 12:55 am

As per NetsDaily:
Sean Williams was arrested Monday afternoon after an altercation at a Denver mall where he reportedly damaged property. Williams was in jail as of 8 p.m. ET and obviously, not available for the Nets’ game against the Nuggets. The exact charges are unknown at this time and the Nets are waiting to decide on any disciplinary action. This is the second time in less than 30 days that Williams has been arrested, though the charges from the first incident were dropped.

They didn't even hire the man a lawyer and bail him out?
Bet if it was Brook or Devin they would.

Seriously though, why did this happen? Why is he getting in altercations at a mall in a cell phone store?
Is he a real G? Is this G? Am I quoting NetsForce too much?

It's disappointing, but I don't think there's one person who follows basketball that's surprised.
much respect to the 2011-2012 champions, Miami Heat, well deserved

Williams=knuckle head

What is this guy doing? Throwing away his pro ball career on a $200 cell phone?

Dude.......on the flip side of things Brook Lopez is looking good.

Sean Williams for a late second rounder?

you guys should've brought in marbury to help straighten him out before the situation escalated to this. I'm sure marbury's learned his lessons and would've been a great model for williams and taught him how not to mess up. Right, netsforce?

I realize he spent a little bit of time in Colorado with the 14ers, so it's not a complete random city.....but what in god's name is he even doing at a mall anyway? I mean, yall played last night in LA and probably didn't even get to Denver until 3 in the morning. Is there really that much time between sleeping, shoot around, and the game....to be out roaming the city and getting yourself arrested? Nevermind the stupidity of the whole thing, just the logistics of it seem dumbfounding to me.

They need to get rid of this guy.

Get what they can get for him and cut their losses.

It is clear Sean Williams can NOT be counted on.

He's proven he will not be a worth the trouble.

I liked him coming out of college, but dude cleary is not understanding the situation:

You are a pro athlete making a ton of cash and all you need to do is act halfways normal in public.

Must be very frustrating for Nets fans because we all know the guy can play and could be a decent role player, but his head is all wrong and hence is proving to the Jersey front office that he was a wasted pick.

What a loser.

My issue here is

This guy has all this anger why doesnt Frank unleash it on the court instead of in a Store in the Mall.

The same way Frank unleashed Harris' scoring ability. Frank needs to harness this rage onto rebounding and block shots. Clearly the guy is frustrated about something. Most likely he is frustrated not starting over Yi.

Besides that, he is an idiot. I still want to hear the details. Just like the BC situation, we have to find out what really happened.

Northjersey.com

Sean Williams was arrested Monday at a cell phone store in a mall in suburban Denver on accusations he got into an argument with a clerk and threw a computer monitor. Later, the Nuggets crushed the Nets, 121-96.

At about 2 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a disturbance at a cell phone store at the Park Meadows Mall, Detective Sgt. Ron Pinson of the Lone Tree police said.

Damages were estimated at $1,200 to $1,300, he said.

Pinson said Williams was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and felony criminal mischief. He was taken into custody without any further incident and transported to the Douglas County Jail, where he posted bond. Pinson didn’t know the amount of Williams’ bond.

The Nets declined to comment about Williams after Monday’s loss.

“I’m not going to talk about Sean,” Frank said.

NJ.com

Sean Williams appeared Tuesday in a Colorado courtroom, where he pleaded not guilty to two charges, and was told to return for another hearing in May.

You can assume his lawyer will try to cut a deal and get the felony charged pled down to a misdemeanor. But we still say Sean's got more to worry about from Rod Thorn than he does the Colorado penal system.

apparently he got in an argument with a store clerk, picked up a computer monitor and threw it inside the store. He broke the monitor, a printer, and a signature pad.. Suspended 2 games

Now I hate cell phone store employees as much as the next man, but come on guy, there are things we all day dream about doing and then things crazy people actually act upon.
Someone get Sean on the Xanies.

I wish I could do whatever it was Sean Williams did and get away with it. I can't stand how they're (cell phone store employees) all trained to think that any problem your customer has can be solved by signing them to a longer contract. Bastards!

edit: came over here from the raptors board to see what was going on with this story.
