Two things happened to Boone.
Realty and Frank.
Realty is that he wasnt that good.
Frank because Frank is an idiot.

Re: what happened to josh?
Boone is decent. He's at least a rotation guy, but nothing more. I don't see him getting any better than the level he's at now though. He is just completely worthless on offense if the defense doesn't bite on the pick and roll. It's the only thing Boone does well. He's not Twin worthless on offense, but he's close at times. At least Twin was a decent free throw shooter for a big man.

As much as SWAT is an idiot, I have always said it and I will continue too, SWAT has more potential then Boone.

^^^^ I disagree with you, I think he can get much better!!!!! Like SIC the coach is to blame for his lack of development. He has a higher ceiling that can be reached but i dont know if he can get there.
He is a pick and roll player, with the offense design for Harris it becomes a struggle for him to score because he cant create a shot himself.

As I start to think, the PG makes up a lot of reason that the bigs sometimes struggle. Harris is a shoot first PG these guys all need to have alley oops, pick and rolls and pick and pop plays to score. which can be a product of the coach or management!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You guys forget he was just and average player in college too. Hell he was NEVER on the court in big situations when he was at UConn unless they needed a defensive stop. I admit the kid deserves time and Frank is to blame for that, but for some reason I'm gonna defend Frank in terms of how much more this kid can develop. Sometimes the responsibility comes down the player. You guys harp on Yi to get his act together but simply blame Frank in Boone's situation. If Boone wants to be more than pick and roll guy, develop a consistent 11-15' jump shoot. If he wants to be trusted down the stretch, fix your foul shooting so you're not in the lower 10% of the league. I know us drafting Lopez and Anderson and trading for Yi has hurt him, but there is no reason he should be completely out of the rotation, even when Najera was out and Swat was destroying cell phone stores. We can harp on Frank all we want, but I can't put the blame soley on the coach. Also, as for development, blame the assistant coaching staff. We have coaches who specialize in positions. That guy should be working his tail off with every big man making sure they're playing at the highest level possible. The guy has potential to be a 10-10 guy (which he was close to when he was getting minutes) based on his defense and put backs/pick n rolls, but to believe he is ever gonna become an above average player in the NBA is laughable to me now. That's not to discredit him even though it sounds harsh. He belongs in the NBA and he belongs in a rotation, but there have been concerns about his ceiling all the way back to his college days, sometimes it's up to the player to change people's minds. I honestly think sometimes the kid is content with mediocrity.

I agree with you that Boone can't create a shot for himself, but shouldn't being a pick and roll player be an advantage to playing with Harris? He sets the screen, as soon as the mismatch comes, Boone rolls to the basket. Harris takes his mismatch off the dribble, when the help comes, dishes to Boone for an easy basket. Maybe I'm wrong, but that just seems so easy to me.

Re: what happened to josh?
^^^^ I appreciate everything that you mentioned the player is responsible for his development. However, the previous draft picks M williams, J Boone and S Williams has not even begun to reach their potential. Why? The organization is responsible with Frank taking the lion share of the blame.
I find it unacceptable that we have wasted draft picks! Do you remember the back and forth over Big Baby and S Williams?
Talent and drive makes up a good part of this but really all the above players are average players?
I find it hard to believe that our scouts are that terrible. 3 straight bad picks!!!!!!

taco neck syndrome:
A permenent crook in the neck (usually tending to stick at a 45 degree angle to the left or right) due to the over-eating abuse of hardshells tacos. The unnaturual exertions placed on the neck due to the "crunchy taco eating bend" develop into taco neck syndrome.
Reports have shown that cases of taco neck syndrome have been developing more and more frequently in instances of use with Taco Bell's new crunch wrap supreme, as well.
Shaquille O'Neal exhibits acute taco neck syndrome in his free throw shooting.

I had "convinced" myself Marcus Williams could be a good player (even though I still wanted to take Farmar over him), but how can you blame Frank that much when he couldn't even get playing time a Golden State when Monta Ellis missed a boat load of games at the beginning of the season? With Marcus, I actually don't blame Frank in any way in terms of him reaching his potential. That kid is the laziest bastard in the world. Don't forget he was also playing behind a hall of famer and then a guy we viewed as the future face of the organization.
How long ago did we have the talk about Baby and Williams? Regardless, I still have no respect for Big Baby. I don't care how good he looks right now, he's massively overrated. Everyone on the Celtics are the dirtiest players in the world except for Leon Powe and Eddie House. If refs called the games fairly (David Sterns fault), Baby would never be on the court because he'd be in foul trouble with the amount of illegal picks he does. Refs are taking it easy on the Celtics because Stern told them even without KG, they're one of the most marketable teams left in the playoffs.

Re: what happened to josh?
The answer lies within this question. Who are our ass coaches? (yeah i said ass coaches hee hee)
Surely player development can't rest wholey and soley with Frank and Thorn?

But here is the thing and there is no escaping it. He is a young player who is contributing for his team which by the way are still playing this year.
So yes player development is wholey and soley the charge of the organization.

I'm just agreeing to disagree. That statement takes any responsibility away from the player in question.

I don't wanna get into a tit for tat with you mack but I'm saying that Frank and Thorn can't be blamed for a players development or lack there of. Who is in charge of strength and conditioning who is in charge of free throw shooting who is our big man coach? Thorn aint goin anywhere and niether is Frank*. I'm saying find better asst coaches. Players must also learn to help themselves off the court. After all they don't mind helping themselves to thier big fat pay checks.
Cheers
*I say that knowing full well that Frank should go cos he is not the best fit for this job. Having said that I truely believe that Thorn has Hired Frank and said here are your players and here are your coaching staff. Go for it. In my humble opinion Frank has had zero to do with the hiring and firing of any key personell
Can Frank coach the kids?
