If they take a pg its going to be hard for him to get minutes with the 3-guard rotation of Harris/Dooling and VC. Thrown in CDr who should get playing time and Im not sure there are many minutes for a PG taken at 11. Could also be used in a trade.

Oh yeah. We all know he'll sit and rot in the bench. The only rookies we really had that were given extensive play time were Brook and Nenad. Nenad we all knew what the reason was that he got minutes (depleted roster), and Brook was pretty much the only true center in our roster, and special thanks to Boone and Sean's failure to improve (and in Sean's case, sink deeper into the rotation. Damn you Sean!)

I agree with you he's gonna rot unless someone gets injured (::punching wood::). I think if we do take one, we'll likely use Dooling more as the backup 2 position and CDR being the 3rd string at the 2 and 3 until we get Simmons out of town then we'll decide whether to start CDR at the 3 or move Jarvis into the starting 5. Just my opinion, but I really don't know where we're going right now. Regardless, I don't really want us to draft a PG. But I also have a gut feeling that by mid-july, we'll shave a few roster spots off, so I really can't form a solid opinion of management's vision yet.

I still say we draft BPA even if it's a point, who knows maybe some other team will overvalue him and he'll be a good asset in a sign & trade in 2010.

A Wolves fan proposed Craig Smith + 28 for Yi.

While I don't think the salaries match, Bobby Brown could be added to make it work. Although, the few responses I've received so far have asked the Nets add in a future 2nd to even out the value. What do you guys think?

Smith + Brown for Yi?
Smith + Brown + 28 for Yi + future 2nd?

I like both, honestly. I really like Smith next to Brook. I haven't seen much of Brown, but he seems like a capable scorer at least and able to fill in spot PG duties.

Minnesota is currently projected to be under the cap.

Ah, good call. Haven't seen much of Brown, so I'd probably take the extra roster spot/2nd.

Assuming the salary cap and MLE stay the same the Wolves would have to renounce their BAE to have enough room to take on Yi...

If the cap decreases to say $57 million then they'd have to renounce both the BAE and MLE...
