If Blair tore his ACL's in highschool well... I think we've seen enough of him to gauge where his athleticism / level of play is at right now.

With all that in mind I still want no part of him with the 11th pick.

The one thing I will say, is he says a lot of the right things and seems like a pretty genuine guy. I mean it's not out of the realm of possibilities that he drastically improves a lot of his all around game. I still don't like him at 11, butif the draft goes a little wierd and there aren't any players we want at 11, I guess it wouldn't be out of the question to trade the 11 to maybe Chicago for their 2 picks.
Still, even if we did that, I would rather go with someone different at the 1st pick and take Pendergraph with the late one.

What would you like to see...

Post#122 » by NetsForce » Mon Apr 27, 2009 8:21 pm

This thread is a little bit redundant but... What would you like to see the Nets do on draft day?

1. Trade up -
The Nets have a number of expiring contracts both large and small alike, as well as a number of young players on smaller contracts, pairing the #11 pick with one of those expirings, or young players, in exchange for a "bad" contract (or unwanted player) and a higher draft pick could allow the Nets to grab one of the few highly touted wing players in this draft - arguably solidifying their core for the future.

2. Trade down -
Have the Nets Pair the #11 pick and one of their own "bad" contracts, like Eduardo Najera, in exchange for a lower pick and an expiring / shorter contract. This could potentially clear up more cap space for 2010 giving the Nets a better chance at signing a big name free agent.

3. Trade out -
Have the Nets pair the #11 pick and / or a "bad" contract in order to acquire a young player, a future draft pick, or clear salary.

4. Stand Pat -
Keep the #11 pick and draft the best player available.

It don't matter. We are due a little bit of "luck" in the lottery. I'm tipping we get the third pick. Thanks to some David Stern Magic. So I'll say stand pat.

I love the idea of James Johnson as well.

I like James Johnson as the pick if we wind up like 10 or 11.

Personally, I would rather have James Johnson over his much hyped teammate, he reminds me of Laphonso Ellis.

I want Rod and Kiki to get their hands on another pick somewhere really late in the 1st or early 2nd and get one of Jeff Adrien, Pendergraph or Taj Gibson, preferably one of the 1st 2. I figure he could trade Sean Williams or Boone to make it happen.
