I'm not going to lie I'm not a big Thorton fan either but I think if the goal is landing prospects AND cutting salary the Nets would have to settle for a comparable package, though in general the feedback I've been getting from the Spurs fans has been negative...
I'd honestly be willing to exchange their 37th pick with the 51st but it seems like the sticking point is George Hill...
Clippers fans have shown mixed reactions, I'm guessing there may have to be more sent out from the Nets. Though I still ride for Boone I'd be somewhat okay with sending him out...

Honestly, if I'm making a "sacrifice" it's getting Thornton out of there. He's not that young and is a chucker. Plus this was, you might able to get a pick that actually has a prayer of being a 1st rounder.

Yeah I'd pass on this. Plus, still have a ton of guaranteed contracts, and we'd be bringing in a ton and only shipping Vince out too. I am usually against these unless a) it makes us a contender so it'll merit having to buy out a few guys or b) we really only need to buy out 1 guy. This just doesn't make a ton of business sense even if it's saving us some money and freeing up 2010. We don't need to free up THAT much room so I'd rather view other options.
Oh, and I still like Vince on this team. I'm fine with trading him but only for a guy I don't consider hot trash (like Thornton).
