I think he would fit our team nicely, but honestly, I don't like him as a human being. I think his immaturity started showing a lot last year, and became a focal point of talk at times during the playoffs. He gets paid a ton, he doesn't show heart all the time, only looking for the highlight real a lot, and have ZERO leadership skills. Yes we have Vince and Devin for that, but at some point, Vince won't be around and as much as I love Devin, I don't think he's a strong enough leader to do it himself. I always think players who make that much should be elite talents as well as elite leaders. Smith doesn't fit that mold to me. You could say it's because he's still young but if you get paid that much, you have to do more than produce on the court in my opinion. Otherwise he'll just be called the "Front Court Corey Maggette."

I'm just saying, if you look at the elite teams over the past few years, if you look at their starting 5, a good amount of them have at least 3-4 guys in their starting 5 with above average leadership qualities. Then a lot of them use 1-2 guys on the bench (you don't have to be a star to be a leader) that show those qualities as well. We could probably contain Smith if Brook starts showing those skills. You can already see it in Anderson and CDR they can grow into leaders. Keyon and Jarvis clearly have them, so I think if the team wanted and could land him, he'd conform. Just right now, I don't like Smith as a person.

I like Smith, but I don't see how NJ can get their hands on them. Even if they go into salary dump mode, I tend to doubt that Smith for expirings and #11 is enough to get it done.

Yeah, I agree with this. His attitude is not the best and it would be great to put together a team with championship attitude/desire. Those teams play above their heads.

No josh smith please. Dont want to get stuck with this guy and his unreasonably large contract.

His athleticism mitigates the fact that he has a subpar basketball IQ. He's also one of the biggest crybabies ive ever seen and doesn't play with heart. Not really a player you are proud of. All he can really do consistently is jump and run the floor. Not worth the money he will eventually get paid.
