Devin for Rubio/Love???

Post#1 » by ecuhus1981 » Fri Jun 26, 2009 4:54 pm

How would you feel about this trade?

Kevin Love, Ryan Gomes and the rights to Ricky Rubio

for

Devin Harris, Sean Williams and Chris Douglas-Roberts

(Wolves could also send Brown, if they want to unclog a roster spot)

Lineups could look like this:

Harris, Roberts, Brewer, Jefferson, [Gortat]
Flynn, Ellington, [Carney], Smith, Williams

New Jersey would be:

Rubio, Lee, Williams, Love, Lopez
Dooling, Simmons, Gomes, Jianlian

Minny would do it because Rubio wont play for Minnesota and his dad is saying that he will most likely stay in Europe instead of signing with the TWolves

^^That doesn't mean they do this trade. There are plenty of teams who would love to deal for Rubio. And yes I'd do this trade.

Posted this reply on the trade board. If we give up Love, I would want Lopez.

Wolves Lineup
Harris/Flynn
Brewer/Carney/Ellington
Gomes/Brewer/Carney
Jefferson/Songaila
Lopez/Thomas

I like that lineup. We still have a few holes, but a better foundation.

Do the Wolves have enough assets to make it happen? Are Rubio, Love, and expirings for Harris, Lopez and a less desirable contract, enough?

NJ could potentially clear a ton of space for Lebron. Rubio, Lebron, and Love would be a fun team to watch.

You seriously need to be banned from new jersey and denied the rights to be a nets fan and so does everyone else who likes this trade. RUBIO SUCKS!!!!!! all I hear from these so called experts is "well hes not that athletic, hes not very fast, and his jump shot isnt that great, but he has that IT factor". OH OK!!! so you dont need to be athletic, fast or know how to shoot a basketball well to be an elite point guard in the NBA, but IT is good enough? i know kidd wasnt the greatest shooter but he sure as hell was athletic and fast. I would love for rice and beans to go to the knicks and ruin that team.

38% Yes and 63% No? WOW!

And LoL at Revolutionistt...

Rubio is not a finished product but in time this guy will be one hell of a player, better than Harris and way better than what most of you can ever imagine. Well... maybe not, but he's definitely going to be a superstar, imo.

This deal is a no brainer with the addition of Love. I would do this deal in a heartbeat.

It's okay to show some emotions when we don't like a certain deal but to be aggressive without knowing a player and just base it on what other people had to say is unacceptable. People should, at least, watch some clips on Youtube if some of you were not able to see some foreign players play or feel and experience their magic live. For those who have seen Rubio at least on Youtube or at the Olympic games, can you guys honestly tell me that this guy is going to be a bust? Is he really gonna suck? This question only pertains to the people that sees Rubio as a failure.

Funny, cause this is exactly what you keep doing with Rubio and in the negative sense against Devin Harris.
You're such a joke dude.

Again, I have said so many times how assinine it is to try and gauge players off youtube.
What a @$%&*# joke!
Brandon Jennings looks like Chris Paul on youtube.
Ryan Anderson looks like Dirk Nowitzki.
Sebastian Telfair looks like Magic Johnson
Although youtube looks like prime Jason Kidd.

I've seen Rubio play 3 and a half full games on top of 2 in the Olympics and a gaggle of youtube footage. I like the kid, looks like he should be a baller. Probably an Andre Miller type, severely underrated and perennial top 10 point guard that never gets the credit he deserves, but superstar?
The Professor looks like Steve Nash on youtube, but he couldn't be the 12th man on a NBA squad.

I would likely do this trade, but you have to take CDR out, even if we had to replace him with something like a future 1st, or Josh Boone or Sean Williams, etc.

I would more do this trade to bring the entire team's core down to the same age group and aquire a big time power forward prospect that has already shown he is a beast and would likely fit well playing next to Brook Lopez. Rubio is the afterthought of this deal, he's just a nice prospect to have coming back at what becomes a serious position of need because of the trade.
Rubio is so :censored: overhyped is just sickening!

Again, I like him as a prospect, but never to be a star.
I do not like the kid as a person. He seems like a horrible human being.

Come to think of it, Kevin Love is GOOD.
I'd still do this trade if CDR is the deal breaker, i can't front, but again, I would rather we throw in a future pick in place.

Not sure why Minny would do this trade?
Even though Harris is an absolute hell of a player and this is probably about his trade value, it just doesn't essentially go with the direction their team is moving in, even more so when they also just draft Flynn.
Then again, they bring in young a star swingman in another trade and fill the bench out, they have a straight beastly BIg 3 of Al Jeff, Devin and what ever young stud wing they bring in.

Minny fans are going to say they're overpaying, because honestly, Big Love is a big time prospect and I'm sure Rubio syndrome is infecting Minneapolites like wild fire right now.

Props to Big Love though, dude is the truth.
I know most posters on here will atest for it, I was on this guys sack last season and offseason, heading into the draft and after you guys aquired him.
I was actually just meh on Brook. I wanted to move down to get Love and when Brook slipped to us I wanted to trade whatever was necessary to have both of them.

BTW, does anyone else actually use the nickname Big Love for him?
I'm pretty sure I came up with that.

What is your obsession with trading Harris? Give it up.

I hate Rubio's youtube clips. He makes amazing passes/plays but so much of that stuff would have been stopped by NBA defenders. Can he improve as a player as he gets older and maybe make it work in the NBA? Yeah, but the YouTube clips weren't a big deal to me. Good luck going behind your back on every drive and fitting passes through the hands of these guys. And I like Rubio. I'm just saying that a lot of that won't work.

It'd be sick to somehow get Love but I don't see it happening. This trade is unrealistic.
